After the fight was over, Kron had escorted you back to your living quarters where Cucumbe was waiting and bouncing around. You said goodbye to your new friend and embraced your old one, who quickly began to gag from the amount of blood oozing from your head. You were currently sitting naked in her bath tub while she washed your hair for you and tended to your wounds.

"That was incredible! The whole palace is talking about you right now!" Cucumbe squealed; you winced a bit as it made your vision swim. Noticing your reaction, she frowned. "Sorry! Sorry."

"It's okay," you smiled, feeling her pour the warm water over your head and drench your hair again. The water around you was a light pink as it was constantly being cycled in and out, filling and draining the tub with clean water. The liquid was infused with just a bit of what was in the healing tanks, which helped surface wounds heal quickly without needing to submerge yourself fully for hours on end.

"I'll tell you what, though, you're lucky you didn't pass out when she slammed your head into the concrete!" Cucumbe said hurriedly. "That gash across the back of your head was pretty bad! It's healing over nicely now though."

Her hands were gentle as they massaged the shampoo into your hair, and you sighed pleasantly and closed your eyes. "You're just not a guard like me. You should have seen me earlier," you pointed to the scar on your side and chuckled. "I was missing, like, the entire chunk of my hip."

She gasped and covered her mouth, "oh my gosh you did get hit earlier!"

"Yeah, here too." You pointed to the scar on your arm which wasn't as noticeable but still pretty moderately sized.

"You need to be more careful! The prince's life isn't worth all of that!"

You frowned, turning to her. "Of course it is. I have faith that Vegeta could become the best king our people have ever seen."

"Well so could someone not born into the roll," she grumbled.

"Cucumbe."

"Sorry sorry, I'm not trying to rain insults down on your boyfriend," she giggled. "Even if you're biased."

Your face flushed bright red as you swatted a hand at her. "He's not my boyfriend! Don't say that!"

"Well you are going on a date with him!" She winked, and you could feel your neck and ears heat up to match your cheeks.

"I have nothing to wear though," you groaned. You could see a smile spread across her face as she rinsed your hair out again. "What's that look for?"

"Nothing!" She was giggling again, trying to hide her smile and failing as it grew instead of shrank. "Alright the water is clear and you're squeaky clean! I don't see any cuts on ya so you should be good to go!"

"Cucumbe! Why the giggles? Don't change the subject!"

"Oops I think I hear someone calling for me I better go!" She quickly set a towel down on the floor beside the tub and left.

"CUCUMBE!" You yelled back, hearing her laugh echo down the hall. You dried yourself off with the towel, running your energized hands through your hair to dry it quickly. You brushed it out and watched it tumble around your face; it looked nice.

You didn't want to put on your sweaty and gross armor after getting all cleaned up, so you wrapped yourself in the towel and poked your head out the door. The hallway was empty, and you quickly gathered up your stuff and rushed to your room, leaving behind a trail of foot-shaped puddles in your wake. Your door locked behind you with a click, and you sighed and tossed the soiled armor into your laundry bin. Your breath hitched, however, when you saw the mannequin standing in the corner of the room.
