Tired eyes glistening
Assignments piling
Dark circles deepening
But no one is listening
Am I more than a grade?
Am I more than all my consecutive A's?
Am I more than that rapidly approaching B?
That's all you seem to see...
Don't you realize,
why I broke down right then and there?
Sitting at my laptop crying
while staring at the bold red letters that said MISSING ASSIGNMENT.
I cried because that two letter phrase
was all you seemed to see.
I'm so exhausted,
but the only one who knows that
is me and only me.
