20. Welcome back, Sa'nok [Mother]

Your day continued in the process of preparing for the traditional victory celebration of the clans, as well as taking care of Haina. You had quickly become attached to her, and Kawvuwä and Mau'te trusted you with her, so they left their daughter in your hands while they went about their duties.

-"Be careful she does not mistake you for her new mother, or Kawvuwä will eat you." joked Unipey as she fed her ikran.

-"I don't believe so, the children in my clan do not mistake me for their mother." you replied as you stroked Vëipa's head and Haina was wrapped in the baby carrier that was attached to you and she was resting peacefully on your chest.

-"(Y/n) the last two summers with mother have helped birth all the kids in our clan and my sister always gets attached to them." Neytiri replied.

-"Apparently someone really wants to be a mother." Unipey said. You felt your face heat up, considering that Tsu'tey was in your company as well helping take care of the ikrans.

-"After my students go through their Iknimaya and bond with their ikran we can officially bond." Tsu'tey called. -"And we can start our family."

-"Your kids would be cuties." Unipey commented as Neytiri noticed a hint of displeasure in your eyes that no one else could see but her… And Vëipa pressing her head to your shoulder start to distract you, giving you a sympathetic purr.

-"(Y/n)!” you heard the familiar voice of Tan Jala calling you from the ground and you were on the wooden structures where the banshees slept. -"If you are done with them, come down to help us make the merki l'dit s'ey [ground rack]."

-"We are coming." Tsu'tey replied walking over to you. -"Do you want to give Haina to Kawvuwä and Mau'te if you think it will make your job harder?"

-"No, she's okay, and she's asleep, I don't want to wake her up, she'll be unhappy." you replied.

You all went down to the rest of your friends, being greeted by them.

Jake was carrying woods in his hands before stopping in his steps and looking at you. His eyes lit up at the sight of you carrying Haina strapped to your chest.

-"This prrsmung [baby carrier] is comfortable for you, isn't it?" asked Marali who was arranging stones on the ground in the shape of a circle.

-"Yes, thank you for giving it to me, it is much more comfortable for me and her." you replied patting Haina on the back. -"How can I help you?"

-"Make the wooden structure, Jake collected wood for it." she replied to which you nodded.

You crouched down on the ground, going about your business of bending the green rods in question. Merki l'dit s'ey [ground rack] are wooden structures for smoking meat. They are vitally important to your culture, through them you honor the animal that gave its life for the good of the clan.

-"Do you want me to take Haina?" Jake asked coming to your side. You looked at him confused. -"To be comfortable working, and not to hurt her while doing it."

-"I will not hurt her, I'm careful." you replied, but the nervous look on Sully's face didn't go away. -"Good, but it will take time to remove the carrier…."

-"I'll just hold her in my arms." he suggested, holding out his hands to you. At least he's not afraid to hug her anymore, you thought.

-"Good, but don't complain about her being grumpy if she wakes up in the shuffle." you replied carefully pulling Haina out and handing her into his arms. -"There you go…" you whispered, stroking her cheek to stop her from crying. She made a few noises of displeasure at not being with you, but calmed down when Sully held her close to his chest.
