Third POVFollowing the disaster in the lunchroom, Hizashi and Shouta were very worried for the nekos. In terms of Shoto, it seemed like all of their progress with the separation anxiety disappeared. The poor neko refused to be 10 feet from the neko and would start getting anxious and twitchy if he wasn't touching the other in some way. It took a little effort, but Shoto was able to explain why the alarm freaked the two nekos out so much.
Both nekos had never been fans of talking about their time in captivity and had only told Shouta and Hizashi the bare minimum. It was always a summary and rarely any real details. So when Shoto explained the alarm incident in detail, both heroes were upset. They were sad that the nekos had to go through that at such a young age and they also wished they could have killed the scientists and villains who had done this.
Izuku was a much larger concern than Shoto was for Shouta and Hizashi. When Izuku's eyes finally cleared, he had slept for the rest of the day. When he was finally able to communicate and show emotion, his reaction scared both adults. The neko wasn't acting as if anything had happened. When asked about it, he just looked at them confused and said he didn't know what they were talking about. They looked at Shoto to explain, and after sending Izuku to clean up for dinner, Shoto explained that Izuku never remembered being in his 'Here-Gone' state. Shoto sadly commented that it was the other's only saving grace from more trauma, but Shouta and Hizashi were concerned that if the time came that the neko finally remembered it could cause even worse reactions.
The real saving grace was that the rest of the next 2 weeks went by peacefully. The press was gone after the second day and Aizawa was holding a tight leash on All Might during their heroics lessons. Lessons were going smoothly and all of the students were finally getting to know each other better. Aizawa and Yamada were pleased to see Izuku and Shoto being comfortable enough to hang around the other teens.
Now that Class 1-A had been in session for 2 weeks, Aizawa decided it was time for their next hero concept. He announced a field trip to the USJ and was almost immediately pleased when he saw the class's disappointed realization that he wasn't talking about the amusement park. There was still a bit of excitement for the hero rescue lesson, but it was much more stifled compared to going on a 'fun' field trip.
Shoto POV
Sun and I were excited to go on the school field trip. It sounded really interesting and neither of us had done rescue training yet. Kurose-sensei (Prohero Thirteen) always talked about what they did as a rescue hero and Dad and Papa always told us that we would make good rescue heroes because we could relate to a lot of victims and our quirks were helpful in saving multiple people at once. So while we waited for the bus, we couldn't stop talking about different things we thought would happen during training.
When the bus arrived, Dad ushered us in front of him to get on the bus as Iida started directing other students, who were ignoring him, to get on the bus in an orderly line and manner. I gave Dad a grateful smile, especially as Sun and I sat in a seat and we could see Iida waving his arms around and trying to maneuver people. Izuku began giggling when he watched Kat start cursing out Iida, grabbing the teen's attention and allowing everyone else to get their chance to finally get on the bus.
When the journey to the USJ began there was lots of chatter on the bus. Kat and Hito got the seat next to us so we extended our discussion about our training to them. It was only 5 minutes into our discussion, however, when our attention was drawn to the seat behind us. Tsuyu and Uraraka had gotten the seat behind us and were now leaning over the seat to see into our space. "Excuse me? -ribbit-" I looked up and saw she was talking to us. I elbowed Sun to get his attention as he was talking to Hito. "What's up Tsuyu?" I asked.
