————————Third POV
Following the UA Entrance Exams and the sending out of acceptance letters, Nezu was busily preparing for the upcoming school year. The hybrid found joy in teaching each new coming generation of hero students, so while there was a lot to plan and review, Nezu took much enjoyment in it. This year was going to be especially exciting because his lovely neko nephews were finally going to make their debut on the UA roster.
However, while the student roster put a bright smile on the hybrid's face, the faculty roster was sure to wipe it clean. The week that acceptance letters were sent out, Nezu had to go through the unpleasant experience of entertaining a call from the HSPC Commissioner. By the time the call had ended, Nezu was fuming. The older woman had, without any warning or consideration of his already planned class schedule, informed him that the Council had decided to interject All Might's name on the faculty roster.
Nezu had asked, holding back all the curse words he knew, why he hadn't been informed of this decision beforehand, much less included in the decision-making of it. He also asked how All Might could work at UA without a teacher's license. Mera just brushed him off, reminding him that, if agreed to unanimously, the HSPC council could add any hero they see fit to a hero school roster for a year. Mera also reassured that she personally made sure All Might had his teaching license.
Nezu hadn't questioned how she personally made sure, having the faintest idea of what she did to make sure of the fact, before ending the call in a worse mood than before. He looked back at the faculty roster and sighed. If he couldn't avoid including All Might on the roster, he was gonna make sure he was never alone with any of his prospective students.
Nezu knew he had yet to inform the rest of his staff, especially Hizashi and Shouta; but he had been busy trying to plan a position that would work to fulfill what the commission wanted by having All Might teach, while also keeping him under close supervision. He'd waited till the last moment, which he knew he'd get heat for, by waiting till today's faculty meeting to inform everyone. Everyone would definitely know something was up when All Might showed up in only a short while to attend the final meeting before the start of classes tomorrow.
Sighing, Nezu got out of his chair and collected his papers. He began walking to the conference room where the meeting was set to take place, feeling like he was walking to his doom. He hoped that both Hizashi and Shouta would understand that All Might's attendance was not up to him and that he was just as upset about the new predicament.
When he entered the room, Hizashi and Shouta were already there along with a couple of other members of the faculty. When Nezu entered, Hizashi gave him a pleasant smile as a welcome. "Good Afternoon Principal! Are you ready for the new school year?" Nezu gave a tight smile and nodded, "Yes. I am excited to see our new line-up of young learners." Nezu saw Shouta glare at him and got ready for the problems that were about to arise.
"What's wrong now Nezu?" Shouta asked. Hizashi looked at his husband in confusion and the dark tone of the question caught the attention of the rest of the staff who had entered. Nezu chuckled wearily, scratching the back of his head to think of how to explain the situation. "Yes well, you see." Nezu knew he was stalling, but he truly had no idea how to explain the situation to Shouta and Hizashi without causing chaos.
"I am happy to be working with each of you once again this year. However, I was informed by the HPSC that they are including their own individual on our roster." There were more looks of confusion and as I was about to explain further, the door slammed open, forcing all the attention to the front. In the doorway with a bright smile stood All Might in full costume. In the back of Nezu's head, he just laughed at how ridiculous the hero looked while the rest of the staff was in much more form-fitting and comfortable weekend clothes.
"No" That was the first word emitted from the table. Nezu turned his attention to Aizawa who was now moving his focus between All Might and Nezu, glaring at both with fire in his eyes. Hizashi wasn't much better, not speaking but frowning harshly, solely focused on the number 1 hero. Nezu did his best to stifle his nerves at the now apparent raging Aizawa Shouta, he even saw a few teachers flinch or shiver as it felt like ice coated the room.
"Aizawa-san please, I'm sure we can all act like adults here-" Before All Might could finish what he was saying, Shouta slammed his fists onto the table and stood up. "You don't have the qualifications to teach and you aren't going anywhere near my boys and," he turned to Nezu, "Why weren't we informed before today?" Nezu tried to explain himself when All Might responded, lowering the temperature of the room even further, "The Commissioner has been very helpful in my pursuit of a teaching license. Besides," All Might continued with a dismissive wave of his hand. "I have already met your son."
Nezu, SHouta, Hizashi, and every other hero who knew of the troubles of All Might and the nekos, looked at the hero in shock. Shouta couldn't even speak from shock before Hizashi hesitantly, with a hint of fear, spoke for the first time, "What?" It was probably the quietest most of the people in that room had ever heard the voice hero, "Yes, yes. I met young Izuku-" "His name is Sun," Aizawa interrupted menacingly, "Izuku, Sun, whatever" All Might dismissed.
"Anyway, I met young Izuku a few months ago during a villain attack. I think he and his blond friend were going out for snacks when they got caught up in a villain attack. After saving the two of them, specifically Izuku who was being held hostage, I spoke to them for a little bit, saying they would make quite promising heroes before leaving to finish my patrol." When All Might finished, Hizashi and Shouta both looked at All Might with mouths open. Aizawa was still shocked into silence sitting down when he felt his legs go numb.
Nezu was bristling with rage. He had worked so hard with Shouta and Hizashi to keep All Might far away from the nekos. He had known that there was a time limit to howling he could maintain that distance, but he thought he still had the ability to make that distance during UA. But he was wrong, and he hated being wrong. All Might had met Izuku. He had TALKED to the neko. Nezu needed to know what the hero really said to the neko, but he couldn't ask. Not at the moment. He couldn't make more of a scene in front of all the other teachers.
The hybrid coughed into his paw and brought the attention back to the purpose of today's meeting. "Yes, well I shall have to ask you about that later Yagi. Anyway, Shouta, Hizashi, I am very sorry about not informing you when Mera called me. I have been busy trying to fit All Might into the schedule. Now moving onto that fact, lets go through the roster for your classes." Nezu shuffled through his papers, "Ecto, you have math; Midnight, you have art as well as sex ed; Hizashi, you have English," Nezu drew on through the list, announcing a few class changes or class additions.
"Finally Aizawa, you have your hero analytics, ethics, and law class and will pair up with All Might on hero training for your homeroom class. Kan you shall do the same when All Might trains your class." Nezu could see All Might about to interject so he continued quickly to finish his explanation. "I am switching up the hero training this year because of some feedback I've gotten from students. It seems more beneficial to have a classes homeroom teacher involved in their training as they will have the larger connection and understanding of their students."
All Might got his chance to finally speak when Nezu let his next pause last longer than before, "Nezu, Mera specifically asked me to handle the training of this years hero students." Nezu was expecting this so he was quick to respond with a devious smile, "I understand that Yagi. And you are. You are a teacher for that class but you will also be helped train the young with a more experienced teacher and hero by your side. Aren't 2 hero teachers better than 1 when it comes to training?" Nezu wasn't asking to get a vocal response out of All Might but the frustrated look and huff that came out of the hero was satisfying.
Aizawa and Hizashi looked pleased to know All Might wouldn't be left alone with their children. Nezu knew they were still pissed and he would definitely have to handle that anger in the coming days as the first week of UA progressed, but for now, he was satisfied to have found a loophole in Mera and All Might's plan to get closer to Izuku. All of which still kept Izuku a decent distance out of All Might's grasp. The rest of the meeting continued in peace with no more interruptions or surprises. This would definitely be a UA school year to add to the history books.
