"Mel, I'm here!" Buddy called. Standing on the windowsill, the dachshund peered inside the apartment. The living room was empty. Frowning a little, the dachshund entered the room and called out again, "Mel?"
"Hang on! I'm coming!" Mel's voice called from down the hall. A moment later, Buddy could hear the pitter patter of paws. Then Mel arrived. Trotting over to the dachshund, the pug nuzzled him lovingly as he asked, "How are you today?"
"Doing alright, Jonathan's soccer team won the game today so they went for ice cream after they dropped me off. How was yours?" Buddy answered. Smiling, Mel puffed his chest out proudly as he announced, "Everything is great. I actually have a little surprise planned for you." His ears perking up in interest, Buddy piped up, "Oh? What kind of surprise?"
"I have to ask you something first though," Mel stated. Placing his paw on Buddy's, the pug looked the dachshund in the eye and asked, "Buddy, would you like to go on a date with me? Like an actual official date?" Hearing those words, Buddy's eyes widened with shock. Holy crap this was happening. His heart was pounding and his mind was screaming on repeat, Omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg...
"Is... is that yes?" Mel stuttered nervously. His tail wagging excitedly, Buddy jumped on his boyfriend as he howled, "Absolutely yes! Oh my god yes yes yes!" Laughing in delight, Mel kissed the dachshund's cheek and declared, "Alrighty, let's go. You are gonna love this baby."
