Dear Person #1,
I have barely moved back home and you have already made two comments that were unnecessary towards me and I haven't even been home for 24 hours.
First, it was,
"If I can hear you downstairs, you're too loud. Stop yelling."
I was happy.
I was laughing.
I was finally enjoying myself for the first time in a long time.
How fucking dare you ruin that moment for me and make me sad... again.
You don't hear me commenting on how loud your tv is downstairs to where I can feel the vibrations in my room and hear it through the floor.
You don't hear me commenting on how you slam doors downstairs to the point where I can hear it upstairs.
You don't hear me commenting on how loud you are coming in from outside at night.
You don't hear me commenting on how obnoxious you are talking or laughing downstairs.
I let it slide after a while.
I managed to let it go.
I managed to have a few more hushed laughs.
I managed to relax.
But then you have yet another comment to say a few hours later...
"Come get your laundry out of the washer and dryer."
Reasonable request, right?
Wrong.
Not when it is past midnight and I am trying to sleep.
Not when you've left your laundry in the washer and dryer all day.
Not when you leave your clothes on the dryer for weeks.
Not when you put a load in the washer and leave the house all day.
Not when you leave your clothes in the dryer all day.
Not when you act like it is your house when you are the only one here that isn't even blood-related.
Not when you think you own this house when you didn't put a damn penny into it unless it benefit you.
You do a shitty job at being an in-law.
You never check in on me even when you know I am stressed, sad, or angry.
You don't even say hi to me when you come into the house.
You never have.
And you probably never will.
From,
Someone That Does Not Consider You Family
