Chapter 4: A Normal Car Ride Back Home

PLACE: HOSPITAL
TIME: 9:40pm

Petey sat still in his hospital bed, rubbing his eyes. He did get sleep, but only for 10 minutes. After that, Petey stayed up for the rest of the night.

While he was sleeping, he had a weird dream, even though all dreams are weird. Petey doesn't remember it clearly, but he did know that his mom was in the dream. It gives him a good reminder that Petey's currently in the last place his mom was in before she died.

Although Petey was in the hospital for the night, he didn't feel better at all. In fact, Petey was stressed. He wasn't stressed for an actual reason, it was just one of the side effects of whatever infection he got a couple days ago.

At least the noise outside was quieter than last night, thankfully.

Nurse Lady opened the curtain again, which snapped Petey out of his trance.

Nurse Lady: "Hey, Petey. You have visitors. You can talk to them until we discharge you."

Petey: "Oh, okay."

Nurse Lady then left the room, and the visitors entered. Those visitors were Lil Petey, Dogman, and 80-HD. Petey also noticed Sarah walk by, but she was visiting someone else.

Lil Petey: "PAPA!"

Lil Petey ran towards Petey and embraced him tightly, tears streaming down his face.

Lil Petey: "I've been texting you fo-for a thousand times!!!" Lil Petey sniffled between words. "And I mean that literally, I sent you 1,000 messages."

Petey: "Oh."

Sarah opened the curtain to find her "friend", Yolay Caprese standing next to the hospital bed while talking to another doctor. Yolay was wearing a dark brown dress that went all the way down to her knees with a light beige jacket surrounding her. It looked pretty on her, Sarah thought.

The doctor then noticed Sarah and turned to her.

Doctor: "Good news! Your friend, Yolay Caprese is ready to go home. However, there's a couple other things you need to know about before she can leave."

While the doctor talks to Sarah, Yolay drops her smile. Yolay has gone through a lot within the past 5 days. And unfortunately the same fate will also come to Petey Duckhat.

"Ready to leave, Petey?" Yolay asked outside the hospital room.

"Yeah, I guess." Petey walks out of the hospital room with his black and white jacket—holding a pill bottle in his hand—along with Dogman, Lil Petey, and 80-HD.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go! Sarah's waiting for us!"
