Chapter 5: Yolay's Flashback

Oh yeah, Zuzu was in the car. It was just me and Sarah. It almost felt like Sarah invited me over on a date.

[Sarah: "Yolay, you didn't have to mention that, you know."]

[Yolay: "Well, was it a date?"]

[Sarah's cheeks turned light red at the question.]

[Yolay: That's what I thought. Anyways...]

Everything was going great, until the food came. There was something off about the waiter. He kinda just...acted weird. But I didn't really think about it much until now.

When I ate the food, it tasted REALLY salty. But again, I didn't think about it that much.

After that, I immediately got food poisoning. Or at least, I thought it was food poisoning. Little did I know, THIS would be the worst 5 days of my life.

The next day, I was at my house, just making breakfast, that's when I realized that I couldn't even smell anything! I thought that maybe it was just a cold, considering I had other symptoms similar to that. But during the night, I heard a weird tune, but I didn't know where it came from.

[Petey: "Wait, you heard a tune?"]

[Yolay: "Yeah...just like what you mentioned earlier. Huh."]

After listening to that tune, I got a nosebleed that lasted for 10 minutes. It made me suspicious, but what was REALLY suspicious is what happened to me the next day.

The next day, I was eating my breakfast, and I couldn't even TASTE anything! That's when I realized that something was wrong.

Soooo I went to the hospital, but the doctors said that there wasn't anything wrong with me. Weird. They also gave me medication that could reduce the symptoms. EXCEPT THEY DIDN'T. The medication did absolutely nothing!

[Petey stared at his medication, then back at Yolay. The story that Yolay was talking about right now was similar to what happened to Petey. Well, somewhat similar.]

And again. During the night, I heard that weird tune again. And something weird happened too. So–and this will sound disturbing–I felt like my teeth were falling out. They didn't! They didn't. It just felt like it. It just...how do I explain it? It felt like I drank acid and everything inside of my mouth was dissolving.

[Yolay glanced around the car before she continued.]

Since there was obviously something wrong with me, and the doctors didn't know about what's wrong with me, I decided to search it up. Sure, it's not the best idea, but what else was I supposed to do? I typed down my symptoms, and it took me FOREVER to find something. But unfortunately, I found nothing.

It was 3am. The only thing I could do now is try to connect the pieces myself.

I was only two days in, so I didn't get that much information. The only prediction that I could make was that every time I heard that weird tune, something bad would happen to me. And it turned out that my prediction was right.
