chapter eight ; sweet talk

A dull throbbing spread through Natalie's head as she slowly pushed herself up. She couldn't really focus on anything, but she was able to tell she wasn't in any place she recognized. As she cautiously slipped out of the bed and did her best to tip toe across the room, she found a note stuck to the bedroom door.
Natalie,
I'm sorry I left you all alone in the house, I had to go to work at S.T.A.R. Labs, hungover or not. Given that we only have two real workers and Barry, we can't take many days off. Barry called a taxi last night and made sure we were both safe here. You can stay here as long as you'd like. There's some leftovers in the freezer. I also left some hangover remedies on the kitchen counter. Love, CaitlynNatalie took notice of how sloppily written the note was and figured Caitlin was worse off then her, her writing is usually crisp and neat. She found her phone on the bedside table and dialed Caitlyn's number. Putting it on speaker and turning the volume all the way down so that the noise doesn't hurt her head so much, she carried her phone with her to the kitchen.
"Hello?" she heard a voice sound from the speaker causing Natalie to flinch in pain. With her hangover, it sounded incredibly loud and he throbbing in her head increased.
She brought the phone up to her mouth, knowing the person on the other line wouldn't be able to hear her when she talked. Natalie brought her voice down to a low whisper, "This doesn't sound like Caitlin. Is it Barry or Cisco? Sorry, I can't really tell right now."
She heard a loud chuckle from the other side, "Your hangover bad too?" they asked.
She nodded her head and quickly whispered yes when she realized the person couldn't see her.
"Caitlyn's is bad so I answered her phone. It's Barry by the way. How you holding up?" Barry whispered to her, trying to help her feel better.
Natalie shrugged, "My head hurts and I don't feel that good. I haven't gotten that drunk in a long time. Not the best idea."
Barry chuckled and spoke softly, "Well I'm sorry I didn't stop you sooner."
"It's perfectly fine, Barry. Besides, I had fun when I wasn't passed out," Nat said, dismissing his apology.
"You remember anything from last night?" Barry asked.
Natalie found some blankets and snuggled up on the couch, "I remember the beginning of the night but towards the end is a bit fuzzy. You are a very talented singer Barry Allen. As for my cousin.."
Barry started to laugh and Nat laughed with him, glad that he couldn't see the huge, contorted smile on her face as she clutched her head in an attempt to stop the headache. "Well thank you very much. And I had a lot of fun too," Barry whispered.
"Oh Barry, could you tell Caitlyn that I'm just going to wait at her house until she gets home? I don't really feel like calling a cab or just doing anything in general." Nat whispered as she rested her head on the cushions.
"Yeah, I'll tell her." Barry whispered back, "You should get some rest. That should help."
Nat knew that she couldn't say no to that given she was already dozing off, "I will."
"Okay, night Nat and I hope you feel better," she heard Barry whisper.
"Night, to you too. Oh wait, Barry? You still there?"
"I'm still here," Barry said.
"Thank you, for making sure we got home safe," Nat said as she cuddled up to a couch pillow.
"You're welcome."

So this is just a short little chapter that I wrote that features the future pairing. I thought it would be just a cute little moment to put in there.
It was at first part of a bigger chapter, so chapter 9 was originally after the end of this. I felt that if it remained that way, this part would not flow with the rest so I decided to make it a stand alone. To see what I am talking about, you'll just have to read the next chapter when it is up!
I am planning on writing a Scorch Trials fanfic during the summer and I am going to continue updating this story and my Thomas Brodie Sangster fanfic.
Please feel free to comment, share, vote, or critique. Anything is much appreciated. My goal for at least one of my books is to reach 100k views by the end of 2015. I feel that if I can do that, then my writing is going well. Please help me reach my goal. That would be greatly appreciated and I would be so grateful.
Also! I love when you guys message me as I love I talk to all of you!!
Love lots
XxLillian
