"Luke! Please don't do this!" Ashton said, turning Luke around so he could look him in the eye. Luke stayed silent and cried, leaning into Ashton. He let himself be comforted while Ashton led them away from the bridge. He walked with Luke all the way to his house. He walked in, ignoring his mum's looks, and led him upstairs. "Luke, please, tell me what happened." He prompted. Luke took a deep, shuddering breath and began his story.

"Michael was finally beginning to trust me, and he let me babysit his nephew. I ruined it by not paying attention, and Hunter, his nephew, got hurt. I hurt Michael too, I guess. I texted him asking him if he hated me, and he said yes. He blocked my number. I just got him back, I can't lose him again, I can't, I can't." Luke started rocking back and forth, mumbling "can't" repeatedly under his breath.

Ashton was scared, he doesn't think he's ever seen anyone act like this. Ashton left Luke to his own devices and went into the kitchen, grabbing some snacks. He went back upstairs to see that Luke had stopped rocking, but just sat still, staring at nothing. Ashton went over to his bed and sat next to him. "Luke, come on, let's take a nap, okay?" Luke laid down, closing his eyes obediently. His breathing slowed down until Ashton knew he was asleep, then he laid next to him. Luke cuddled into him, seeking warmth. Ashton let it happen, knowing he needed comfort right now.

Luke slept fitfully, waking up every few hours. They woke up at nine o'clock the next morning, with purple underneath Luke's eyes. "Um, thanks for last night, Ashton." Luke muttered. "You can call me Ash if you want, everyone does." Ashton walked downstairs, Luke trailing after, so they can make breakfast before he has to leave. As it turns out, they couldn't make breakfast because Ashton's boss called him in for an early shift. Luke said goodbye before walking out of his house.

He didn't want to go home just yet, so he settled for walking around the city. He walked aimlessly, passing families with small children, couples young and old, even some small children walking hand in hand. He passed a smoothie store, walking in and buying a banana-strawberry smoothie. He walked towards a park, sitting on a bench and thinking. He was brought out of his thoughts when he felt a tugging on his skinny jeans and heard a small voice say, "Luke!" He looked down to see the last little boy he'd ever expect. Hunter.

He quickly looked around to see who was with him, but relaxed when he didn't see Michael. "Hey Hunter, who're you here with?" Hunter giggled, jumping up, trying to sit next to Luke. "No one, I came with a friend but I ran. His mommy is mean. No like her. So I ran." Luke picked Hunter up and set him on his lap. "Hunter, that's not good. Come on, we're gonna go find them." Hunter struggled to get down, so Luke lifted him up. "Carry me?" He asked cutely, lifting his arms up. "Fine, fine, I'll carry you." He picked him up and started the journey to find Hunter's friend and mother when he was tackled from behind, making him almost drop Hunter. "Luke you dick, stay away from Hunter, haven't you hurt him enough?! Look at his fucking cast!" Michael shouted. "M-michael, you don't understand, I-I wasn't doing anything." Michael grabbed Hunter and walked off, glaring at Luke the entire time.

Luke decided he'd finally had enough and stalked after him, intent on explaining everything to Michael and making Michael listen, no matter what.
