OLYMPUS
Zeus+the others
"Order!" Zeus shouts over the loud chatter of the gods and goddesses before him. His eyes zero in on Katiya, seeing she has lost her shine, then he looks at Apollo, who has lost his shine as well.
Usually Apollo is lively and upbeat, making sure the other gods and goddesses are happy, but the sadness rolls off him in waves causing an uneasiness to settle deep within Zeus' soul. "What is the meeting for?" Hades monotone voice drawls out, placing his pitch black eyes upon his youngest brother in disgust. His wife places a soothing hand on his chest and he breathes deeply.
"We must discuss strategy! The God will be coming in a few months time and I feel as if we aren't prepared." He answers and that causes the gods and goddesses to break out into chatter again but Katiya and Apollo doesn't react. They stare at each other longingly.
Zeus knows that his curse is harsh, that he should allow them to be happy together but Katiya took something from him. He took the position that his son rightfully deserves. "My domain is ready, maybe you should prepare yours." Hades spat, he has followed all the rules. He doesn't take short cuts when it comes to taking care of the dead. He works hard and in return he reaps the benefits that he sows.
"Katiya, Apollo, would you stop staring at each other and focus on the task at hand!" Athena shouts furiously, slamming her hand onto the marble stone of her throne.
The room grows silent as a darkness washes over the once bright and lively room. "Katiya stop it this minute!" Zeus demands, but Katiya shrugs, indicating it's not her.
"You will not speak to her in such a manner." Apollo's voice is deadly and his sister stares at him in shock. She has never felt such a dark entity in her life and from someone who is literally sunshine, it's strange.
"She is a nobody! She needs to learn her place and making googly eyes at a major god is unacceptable!" Aphrodite spats and Apollo jumps from his throne, his hand wrapped around the blonde goddesses throat in a blink of an eye.
"That nobody is my wife," he snarls, tightening his hold on her throat, "you all will treat her with respect, because if it wasn't for her you will have no power! You all will cease to exist."
"What do you mean?" Athena demands, her thick brows furrowed in confusion.
"For the goddess of wisdom, you aren't very wise," he snarls, "I would've let the world freeze over so long ago, if she told me to stay with her." He whispers sadly, turning to face his goddess, the only one he prays to reverently.
The only one he gives offerings too. "I would let the Earth and all it's inhabitants perish, just to be with her for the rest of my days. I would gladly give up my position as a god, if it meant I can see her smile for more than those passing moments, if it meant I could hold her for a little while longer."
Even though he was addressing the room, his eyes stayed locked on hers, watching as her white tears spilled against her dark skin. "A-apollo, you know I can't let you do that." She mutters and he nods.
"I would gladly let you all cease to exist if it meant staying with her." He whispers and her sobs break his heart even more. She is his wife and yet they only get fleeting moments with each other.
"What does this mean?" Hermes asks.
"It means you're beloved ruler has cursed our love." Apollo answers dejectedly and moves to sit in his throne. "So no, I will not stop looking at her. I will not stop staring at her longingly, because for as long as I can remember she's all I've ever wanted." He confesses, staring at his wife from across the hall, wishing he can take her in his arms more than anything. "She's not even allowed to talk in this hall, so her muttering that sentence to spare everyone has caused her great pain and one day you all will wish you never kept us apart." He finishes, leaving the hall in a flurry of robes.
