Is what she doing right now petty? Yes, but if you were in her shoes you would do it too. She's moved into the attic of the pack house, no one ever comes up here and it'll make him panic, or at least she hopes he will.

Altheia masked her scent before leaving the room and sneakily packed up all her belongings to take with her to the attic. Usually she'll run to her parents, but Altheia can't keep relying on them, she's a grown woman, a married one at that and she'll be damned if she goes back to their house, sniveling because of some man.

Her mother would beat her silly and her father would talk her ear off, all while her sisters snicker in the corner, whispering about how they were right. So she did the next best thing and hid right under his nose.

She can hear the indistinct shouting coming from below her, but she pays it no mind, as she settles on the semi-hard mattress on the floor. This is where she stayed for two weeks, only coming out at night when she knows it's clear to eat and grab water. Her scent stayed hidden the whole time, that she made sure of and for once her wolf was in total agreement with her actions.

Her wolf was hurt when he said what he did and no one gets to hurt her wolf's feelings like that, not even her. Right before daybreak, she slips silently into Ethan's chambers and watches the man sleep. He looks stressed, as if the weight of the world is on his shoulders. His eyes have heavy bags under them, as if he hasn't been sleeping for days and while at first she feels nothing but satisfaction at the state he's in right now, a part deep inside of her feels guilty.

She hurriedly unmasks her scent and sit on the chair in front of the bed. His eyes snap open immediately, searching for her frantically and there she sits, right in front of him. He moves to get up, but she stops him with a firm shake of her head. "Stay seated." Her voice is bland, cold, as if she's talking to a stranger and that cuts him deep, but he listens.

"Altheia." He whispers, almost in shock and once again she shakes her head at him.

"I didn't say you could speak." She hisses, her eyes narrowing at him. "I've had some time to think and since I'm the only one who seems to be invested in this emotionally, I can't continue to be married to you." She states, her eyes blazing, she knows her wolf is also at the forefront of her mind.

"W-what?" He interrupts her.

"I said quiet." She hisses once again. "I'm tired of this back and forth and you're right, you did warn me, but I got too attached, I got caught up in you and I refuse to not love you wholeheartedly and I refuse to not be loved just as much and if that means giving you up then I will. As much as I love you, I love me more and my heart can't take this." Altheia finishes and Ethan's heart clenches, he wants so badly to reassure her, tell her that he loves her and can't live without her, but she refuses to hear what he has to say.

"I love you." He whispers and Altheia narrows her eyes at him.

"If you're saying this to make me stay, don't. You have nothing to worry about, I am not carrying your child, so you'll be able to easily reproduce with another." She sneers and at that point Ethan rushes to her, grabbing her in his arms.

"Listen to me, woman, I love you, I knew I loved you the first time we shared the same bed together. I was afraid to admit it, afraid to accept that I love someone and they love me back. The last thing I heard from my parents is them telling me they love me and then they died, right in my arms. I love you Altheia and it's been years since I've told anybody that, but I'm glad it's you, and I will tell you it over and over again, until we die and even in the afterlife, I will continue to show and tell you how much I love you, so please don't leave me." He whimpers the last part and Altheia heart soars in love, before he scoops her up in his arms.

"I was here the whole time." She whispers in his ear.

"Yes, you were in my heart the whole time." He reassures her and she chuckles.

"No I mean literally." She laughs and then heads to the bathroom for a much needed soak in the tub.
