Parakram SAF, Deolali
Karan had finished his meeting with Col Batra. They discussed regarding an important upcoming mission as they had got some leads from one of their informers. Karan was supposed to revert to Col Batra within 30min with the strategy as the mission was to be carried out near Deolali and that came under Karan's jurisdiction.
Karan was discussing this with Ustadji in his cabin as Monami barged in, without knocking and happily screamed his name. The men were shocked, because of the sudden entry and also because Monami never ever does this, she understands Karan is her senior and she always maintains decorum at work place. What happened now?
Karan gathered himself, and by then Monami noticed the presence of Ustadji and realised her mistake.Karan (authoritatively and a bit angrily) - Agent Monami, what is this behaviour? There's a meeting going on here.
Monami was very embarrassed. She quickly apologized to Karan and Ustadji, raised her heels and did a quick salute to Karan.
Monami - sorry sir, I am very sorry. This will not be repeated. Hmm, I will wait outside.
Karan somewhat knew that she wouldn't have done this without a reason. But now, this was not the right time or place to discuss further.
Karan - It's okay. Infact, now that you are here, I have to discuss a very important mission.Monami got into serious work mode and stood attentively. Ustadji briefed her on the issue.
After the surge of covid-19, some medicines like dolo-650 were getting very popular as most doctors were recommending those for fever. The sales of these medicines had gone very high, and from few weeks, they were reports that the prices have also gone high due to lack of supply. While the pharmaceutical companies were manufacturing and selling at the same price, there were some people illegally hoarding up the supplies to manipulate the market rates, and the end customer were getting impacted. These were usually hidden in godowns and warehouses. From Col Batra's sources, they got to know such a warehouse is setup somewhere in the outskirts of Deolali and medicines are illegally hoarded there.Monami - Toh sir, ye toh black marketting ka case hua. Hum isme kya kar sakte hain?
Karan - It's not just that Monami. Aise godown kahi bhi ho sakte hain. Problem ye hai ki ye facility forest area mein chhup ke banayi gayi hai, waha machinery bhi install ki gayi hai aur humare informer ne waha kuch armed guards bhi dekhe hain. Agar baat sirf black marketing ki hoti, toh yaha Deolali mein hi kyu aur machines ki kya zarurat!
Monami - That means, hume waha jaake dekhna padega ki kya chal raha hai.
Karan - That's right. First step, we go for surveillance. No action until necessary. We'll try to understand the situation and gather as much evidence as possible. And then, we go back with full preparation.
Monami and Ustadji nodded.
Karan - As Faizi is on another mission, ye mission main khud lead karunga. I'll go for the surveillance.
Ustadji - Sirji, aap? Aap order dijiye, hum jaate hain commandos ke saath. Academy ko aapki zarurat hai..
Karan(smiled) - Desh ko aur zyada zarurat hai Ustadji. Waise bhi, iss kursi ki wajah se on-field jaane ka mauka nahi milta. Ab mila hai toh chhodunga nahi.Monami smiled listening to her Khadoos, and just then Karan looked into her eyes.
Karan - Agent Monami, I need you to join me in this mission. Aapki medicine ki knowledge hume problem samajhne aur proof ikatthe karne mein help karegi.
Just then, Karan realised that Monami was unwell in the morning. Meanwhile, Monami who had totally forgotten why she had come to the academy, was now in a fix. Should she go on a field mission in this condition? But then, she recalled how her mother had always put her duty first, no matter what and she would do the same.
