Chapter IV: The School Pain

Elliot and Lucas were standing at the frontline of Ares Junior High, about to go to class. Lucas was looking at Elliot trying to keep her from tearing up again. She always would cry when she approached somewhere she disliked. He didn't like seeing her cry.

As they entered the building, some of Lucas' friends were standing across the hall. They noticed him coming inside, WITH Elliot beside him.

"YO, LUCAS! What's up, man? Ready to go?" They asked. Lucas was standing quietly.

"Ahem*... Yeah. I'm coming. Give me a minute." He looked at Elliot and gave her half his lunch for later. There was one rule in this school: You must have a lunch of your own. Or no food.

"Ok, I gotta get going. I'll see you soon." He said. Elliot just shook her head.

Lucas walked to his friends and left the hall. "Who is she? Your girlfriend or something?" Lucas gave him a look.

Elliot heard them ask that as he left. She had no reaction. Elliot does have feelings for Lucas but doesn't think of it like that. He cares for her a lot and never fails.

Elliot and Lucas met when she was just 3 years old. He was 4. It all started in pre-school when Elliot was being bullied by some kids. Not the Marsh-Mellows. They weren't in until 3rd grade. But after being bullied, Elliot was sitting on a bench in the corner. She was crying soundly. But then Lucas came over to her and swore he would be a great friend to Elliot. He was her first friend.

Elliot was standing in the middle of the hallway all alone when suddenly the bell went off. The hall filled people extremely quickly. With everybody walking through, some students were pushing each other and they pushed someone else into Elliot, dropping all her things.

Elliot stood up picking up her papers. And the person who got pushed into Elliot is helping her pick it up with her.

"Ow... Sorry. I didn't mean to. I was just walking through when those guys smashed straight at me. I'm sorry." Said the student.

Elliot looked up at the student and it was her: Cindy Pink Marsh. Elliot stood frozen, she was expecting her to do something. Cindy was a female and part of the Marsh-Mellows family. Also the youngest among them. She has magenta dyed short hair, glasses, a pink hoodie, a purple skirt, and pink shoes. She also wears a little grey beanie hat, which was rumored to have been given to her by her mom.

"Are you okay? Oh! Do you think I'm gonna hurt you like the Marsh-Mellows do? Do you?" Cindy asked.

Elliot nodded her head still terrified. Cindy then started to look at Elliot's half-burned face. She felt uncomfortable about the looks.

"Y-you! Y-your Elliot! Right!? I know you! You are one of the kids my brother and sister like to bully." Cindy stood so surprised. "Well I don't want to hurt you or lead you to trouble, so I'm going to leave you. If you need anything, I'll be in the art room. I mostly chill around in there." Cindy gathered all Elliot's things and handed them to her. And left.

Elliot just met someone who didn't harm her. This was surprising for her. This reminded Elliot of her parents and Lucas. At least Elliot could visit her mom's grave. But her father...
