Isabel was still quiet around Maddie then following morning. The room they shared was silent all night; of course Maddie’s mind was focused on Niall. He had some sort of effect on her, he mesmerised her, fascinated her. Isabel however thought of him differently than her siblings, she saw the other side. He side that got into fights, smoked, partied all night and lived off his father. The type to use girls and tell them what they want to hear until he gets what he wants. That’s when he leaves them for a skinner, prettier model. Of course Maddison was beautiful in a natural way, not plastered in cosmetics and accessories, but why was Niall interested in her? She wasn’t easy, but it made Isabel wonder why her older sister gave in to him so soon. Shes usually strong and lets the boy get bored and leave her alone. Her mind has always been focused on her family, which is why she got the job in the first place. But now it was stuck on the local bad boy. Maddie hadn’t had many boyfriends before. There was Jake when she was 12 but they a little too young to understand what ‘love’ was. The Isaac at 16, his family moved away 4 months later. Now at 18, it’s Niall. He could get any girl he liked. The bad boy image he emitter proved to be an alluring attribute when attracting the opposite sex. It was never really a challenge, but Maddison did put up a bit of a fight, making him want her more.
Maddison had a day off, her first one since working at the Horan household, except for weekends. Her plans were to take Poppy and Lewis to primary, catch up with Isabel until she went to comprehensive school, sort out the flat, get more food, you know the housework. Although her day didn’t go so smoothly. She’d gotten her four year old sister ready and her eight year old brother to stop jumping on the worn out couch.
The four of them walked to the Primary school. Lewis run off a head slightly, still in their view, while Poppy sang to some songs she’d learned in school while holding Maddie’s hand. She waved at them at the school gate before turning back to go to where Isabel stood. They had a bit of a catch up while they walked around the corner to her school. Maddison had forgotten what school life was like. She looked at the different groups of people in the yard. There was a group of girls around 16, their faces plastered in foundation and skirts barely passing their bums, all huddled around one cigarette. A group of boys where playing with a football, obviously on the team. A huddle of year 7’s we’re being pushed around by the older kids and they scurried off inside the building. Isabel said her goodbyes and running over to a group of girls and boys her age. Maddie smiled slightly, remembering her old friends. They’d all gone to University now, while Maddison didn’t even finish Comprehensive. Obviously she wished she could have gone to college then university, creating a career for herself. Being successful, wealthy and respected. It could never happen though. So her goal was to get Isabel, Lewis and Poppy to university one day. To give them the opportunities she wasn’t lucky enough to obtain.

Slowly making her way home, Maddison reached the flats. She kept her head down before she noticed a white motorbike. Sat on top was a familiar teenage Irish boy.
“Thought it was your day off” He smiled, getting off the bike and walking over to her.
“I took the others to school” She grinned at his presence as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a kiss.
“Come on” He pulled her over to the motorbike. She looked at him confused. “We’re going out” He told her, passing her a helmet. Maddison had never really trusted motorbikes, too many dangerous stories but Niall basically picked her up and set her on the back seat. He got on too, taking her arms and wrapping them around his waist securely.
“Where are we going?” Her plan of action would have to wait.
“You’ll see” He replied, revving up the engine. She didn’t object and held on tight to his leather jacket, pushing her important plans to the back of her mind, Niall taking over again.

Maddie kept her eyes shut the whole way, fear taking over her whole body. She didn’t like the idea of being exposed to passing vehicles travelling at 60 miles per hour. As she felt the motorbike slow down, her blue eyes adjusted to the sun. She peered at the surroundings; a big lake with blue sparkling water with a glass fields neighbouring it. The trees were fully blossomed and dotted around randomly in the field. The berries hung low on the bushes. Niall pulled up along side a few other motorcycles and removed his helmet. He got off the bike and helped Maddie. She looked around but their was no sigh of owners to the other bikes.
“Stay close” He smiled, putting his hand on her back.
“Whose are they?” She asked.
“The lads” He replied, like she knew them. He pulled her in the direction to the lake where the others laid. Maddison took a moment to take in all their appearances. The first was a tall boy with lots of tattoos and a head of dark brown curly hair. Leaning against a tree was a dark skinned boy with a black haired quiff. He too had a sleeve of tattoos and a lustful smirk as he stared intensely at the girl with purple hair, his girlfriend she guessed. She looked at the other two boys sat on the grass, both with girlfriends also. And both with tattoos. The first one had ruffled hair with blue eyes. His shirt was off like the others, exposing his muscles and ink. His girlfriends also had a few piercing to match his image. She heard footsteps behind them, probably more people to join the group of runaway teenagers. Maddie looked down at herself; no tattoos, no piercing, natural blonde hair.
“Look who finally came” The curly haired boy called out and all eyes landed on them. Niall high fived the lads while Maddison stood awkwardly, playing with a strand of hair. The owners of the footsteps behind belonged to 4 other girls and 3 boys. One of the girls made their way to the curly haired boy who had just spoken and kissed him.
Soon she was introduced to the others; the curly haired boy was named Harry, the boy with the quiff, Zayn. The two others were Louis and Liam and the girls included Perrie, Danielle and Eleanor. The footsteps behind them contained Sean, Alfie, Austin, Lydia, Grace, Eva and Jess. Of course Maddie kept mixing up the names so decided not to speak very much.
Niall and Maddie laid on the grass by the lake, the sun tanning their pale skin. “Oii Nialler, get your Irish ass over here” Harry said, kicking the football to Louis. Niall laughed and propped himself up by his elbows.
“Go talk to the girls” He told her.
“Im fine here” She responded. Without warning he pulled her up and set her down by the other girls.
“Look after her” He told them and they nodded.
“So…You’re Nialler’s new girl?” Lydia asked, taking a drag of a cigarette. Maddison held her breathe not to breath in the smoke as she blew it to her face.
“Y-yeah” She coughed slightly
“You don’t seem like his type.” She added, examining her appearance. “No tattoos, you clearly don’t smoke, the way you dress” She judged. Maddie gave her a fake smile, pretending not to be affected by the words.
“Come off it Lyd, leave the poor girl alone. You were like that before Austin got to you” Perrie laughed. The conversation escalated to a different topic but the words raced through Maddie’s mind ‘You were like that before Austin got to you’.
