Chapter 6 ~Oh No...~

"Wake up," Mother said, her voice sounding happy, my eyes flutter open to see Mother and Ember'Star smiling, I look around to see the others waking up as well, "your apprentice ceremonies are today!" Ember'Star smiled, I look around seeing everyone but Thistle, I sigh, she ended up becoming Juniper'Snow's apprentice, so she slept in the med den. "You have a bit before I call the meeting, I have to pick your mentors. So, for now, enjoy your last moments as kits," Ember'Star smiled before walking away. "You ready...?" Soot asked walking up next to me, "ready than I've ever been," I smile. I walk into the center of the camp and hear, "Mud!" I look over to see Twilight making his way over, "hey Twi," I smile, "how do you feel about becoming an apprentice?" he asked stopping in front of me, "excited," I smile, "how is it being an apprentice?" I ask, "It's great, Wishing'Flames has taught me so much," Twilight smiled. Just as I was about to say something we hear, "ALL CATS OF RIVERCLAN! FROM THE YOUNGEST KIT TO THE OLDEST ELDER PLEASE GATHER AROUND THE WET ROCK FOR A CALN MEETING!" Ember'Star called, Twilight smiled, and we sat next to each other as we waited for the rest of the clan to gather. "Today we have a lot of kits becoming apprentices, but first I want to call Echo'paw in front of the rock," Ember'Star smiled, I glance over to see Echo'paw get up and walk forward his tail lingering around Splattered, "you have shown great skill and loyalty, I believe you are ready for your warrior name. under the light of Starclan you will continue as a warrior and from this day on you will be known as Echo'Moon, after this meeting, you will complete your silent vigil, and you will officially be a warrior of this clan," Ember'Star smiled. "Now, Amber'kit, Dapple'kit, Flaring'kit, Mud'kit, Night'kit, Oak'kit, Soot'kit, and Splattered'kit please come forth," Ember'Star said, I step up hearing "You can do it!" whispered from Thistle.

"Amber'kit, you have reached the age of 6 moons old; you are ready to become an apprentice, from this day until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Amber'paw, your mentor will be Flaming'Skys, may he pass everything he knows onto you. Flaring'kit, you have reached the age of 6 moons old; you are ready to become an apprentice, from this day until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Flaring'paw, your mentor will be Fish'Leap, may he pass everything he knows onto you. Night'kit, you have reached the age of 6 moons old; you are ready to become an apprentice, from this day until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Night'paw, your mentor will be Night'Scar, may he pass everything he knows onto you. We all freeze and look to Dapple, she's terrified, "meeting dismissed!" Ember'Star called jumping down from the rock, everyone touched noses with their mentors, but we all turned and watched nervously as Dapple approached Echo'Moon, he stood up and touched noses with her then nodded heading off to do his silent vigil. Dapple looked back a bit confused, but I watched Echo'Moon as he walked away his face went stone cold and he glanced back at Dapple in a way that sent chills down my spine. "Come on Mud'paw, let's go train," Ember'Star smiled. As we all exited camp to begin training, we were all thinking the same thing, 'Oh no...'
