Sora's Pov
"Say..where the heck did you find this little thing anyway?"
"Huh? Oh! Kyu-Kyun? I found her behind a tree northwest from here while I was looking for you. Isn't she cute?"
Arista and I were treading the forest all afternoon trying to get back to the airship. That battle with the Noirion boar tired us both that it was hard to pick up the pace with each other while walking. At least now, Kyu-Kyun wouldn't have to be scared anymore.
"Do you realize that it-" Arista stopped herself trying to hide her reaction to my cuddling Kyu-Kyun while she nuzzled me cutely before rephrasing, "that she is a star fairy?"
"Star fairy," I repeated in a curious tone. "Oh! Yeah. My dad once told me stories about the star fairies. What I don't get though is why that.. Noirion thing was attacking this place."
"My guess," Arista began. "Is that it was sent here to attack the star fairies who live here which caused them to flee. I mean.. it's probably because they wanted to get them as far away as possible as to not get eaten by it."
This made Kyu-Kyun bury her face in my chest and bounced her in my arms comfortingly. "Well, it's gone now. So it's safe for them come back right? Hopefully.."
Arista flicked the side of my head. "Hello! Windborough to Sora! We found your ship."
I looked up to see it there in the distance right where we left it and I ran to it excitedly. "Oh my avatar!! I missed you so much!!"
As we got back on, we suddenly noticed the sun set in the west and we decided to view it together. To think that we have to join forces to win a battle.. I thought as I stared into the orange, red and purple sky as night falls. I wonder if there are other powerful enemies out there..and who exactly summoned them.
"So? What are you going to do about her," Arista asked, interrupting my thoughts. "That star fairy seems very attached to you."
"Well, I can't just leave her here," I answered firmly. "Of course she's coming with us!"
"Ugh..fine. But she is your responsibility. Not mine. If you ever lose her, it'll be your fault."
And with that, she heads off to start the ship leaving me with a now sleeping Kyu-Kyun. I can't help but smile as I watch her softly snoring away. But Arista is right. She is my responsibility now..which means no matter what, I will protect her.
I'm really happy that Sora and Arista have a new companion to bring along. Honestly, it felt really good to write this and I hope this good feeling never goes away for a long while.
