Sora's POV
I can't believe what Arista said to me.. Why would she..but.. is she right? ..Am I really too soft to be a leader?
Those thoughts swirled around in my mind as I was hugging Kyu-Kyun and sobbing. I couldn't help but think back to what she said..in fact.. it's all I've been thinking about ever since the fight..I couldn't even take a deep breath to relax myself because of how sad I was..
I didn't notice someone came to check on me until I heard a voice say, "Hey.. You have to control your breathing or you'll get the hiccups."
When I finally looked up, I saw Vyse walking over to me and I was about to get up to move but he gently places his hands on my shoulders to stop me. "Settle down, Sora. I only want to talk. Now take deep breaths.."
I finally nod and took a few deep breaths until I felt calm enough to talk. "Th thank you.." I murmured. I didn't even realize until that point that I was still clutching Kyu-Kyun tightly so I lightened my hold a little. "I'm sorry, Kyu-Kyun. Are you okay?"
Kyu-Kyun nodded at me but she still had that worried look on her face. Vyse noticed this and smiled at her. "Cheer up, little one. Sora's okay now. She isn't crying anymore." He cooed before he petted her gently. This made Kyu-Kyun giggle a little which made me smile before we both sat down together.
"It was pretty stupid huh," I spoke again. "To watch us argue like that? I honestly don't know much about Arista..only the fact that she needed to find and sell treasure or something so she can have enough Toketems to buy a house of her own."
"And you," Vyse asked. "What's your reason for traveling around like this?"
I stared at my Aquarius mark, taking in the aqua blue sheen in the moonlight. It seemed like it changed into a sky blue for a moment.
"I...I want to know about my lineage. See... I come from Cosmilyte. And we are pretty much secluded there. At least it was until a man named Draco attacked us.
"I was suddenly given this mark by someone..I don't know who but..now that I think about it.. his voice did sound familiar.. A anyway! That's besides the point. Basically, because I was given this mark, I felt like that there is more to this world than what I was raised to believe.. so I want to explore this world and discover my true destiny..
"But now..after what happened.. I'm not sure anymore..." I finished sadly. I knew it in my mind that she may be right but still..
"I feel the same way," Vyse began. "I've always thought being a part of a pack was my true mission in life..but ever since the first time I felt this pull toward the full moon..I'm starting to wonder if it is the path that I want."
"Pull?" I asked.
"Hm.. How do I explain this? Well, it's sort of like you're drawn to it. For example, whenever the moon is like this, I walk out to this beach and just watch it travel through the sky all night. Another time, one of my pack members would howl to communicate with us and my howl would be louder than normal. And just earlier, before you three arrived, I had an argument with my chief, Lucius. I ran out to cool my head when I suddenly just stared at the moon."
"Huh.." I murmured. "Really? .. It's the same with me and the wind. Whenever there was a windy day or night, I would come outside to just enjoy the breeze."
"Breeze.." Vyse said quietly. "Isn't Breeze your last name?"
"Huh? Oh yeah! It is! Why?"
"Well-"
We were both suddenly interrupted by Kyu-Kyun crying and I began to panic. "Oh no," I shrieked. "What's wrong, Kyu-Kyun? Um..do you need something to eat? No..I already fed you..uh.. maybe.."
Vyse only chuckled. "Has she had her nap yet?"
"Huh? Her nap? Oh shoot! No. I completely forgot!"
Vyse laughed again before taking Kyu-Kyun in his warm, furry embrace. He then did something so sweet and adorable that it pulled on heart strings. He started rocking her gently and singing her a lullaby that I have never heard of before. As he did this, I watched Kyu-Kyun calm down when she heard him singing and in no time flat, she drifted off to sleep.
If my jaw hadn't dropped before, it did now. This was completely unexpected for a Lycaon. He almost seemed.. fatherly. "H how did you.." I began to ask in a stammered voice but he answered the question before I got to say it.
"It's a lullaby my mother sang to me when I was little. Whenever I couldn't sleep at night, I would always ask her to stay with me until I did and she would sing that song. Just thinking about and having sung it just now.. it makes me think back to the past."
"You are so..sweet for a Lycaon. I mean..I kind of expected you to be, like, viscous and scary..but no.. you have a very humane soul and you have this aura that's so... nurturing and loving."
He chuckled looking back down at Kyu-Kyun. "You think so?"
Suddenly we heard screams in the distance and I could've sworn I heard a loud roar above them all. "What was that?"
"My village," Vyse shouted. "It's under attack! We have to hurry!"
I nodded in agreement and we hurried back where the festival was as quickly as we could.
It so amazing to show this side of both Vyse and Sora. I hope to explore more with the two of them in the future. We'll see what happens though.
