I slowly opened my eyes, the light from our windows shining into the room. Anne had shaken me awake from a wonderful dream. I was on Highwing, and I was soaring through the highlands. I would see spots where there typically would've been poacher camps filled with greenery and wildlife instead, and my friends would be there waving at me as I passed the surrounding hamlets. I didn't have the burden of being a Keeper or the stress of having to hold the ancient magic inside me. It was amazing. I didn't want to wake up and have to return to my harsh reality."I want to sleep innn," I whispered, shutting my eyes even tighter when Anne moved me around.
She pulled the blankets off me before dragging me off the bed. "We're going to be late for breakfast. Ominis told us to meet him in the Great Hall. Black's gonna announce the thing today."
"What thing?" I slurred as I rubbed my eyes, standing up. "Oh, the tournament thing!"
"Yeah, the tournament thing! Get dressed, I'll meet you in the Great Hall," Anne laughed, lightly shoving my shoulder.
I headed to the girls' restroom, my uniform in one hand and my wand in the other. As I walked through the halls of the dormitories, I could hear sounds of sick students in their rooms. I guess Garreth's potions from last night didn't sit well with others. I was relieved I only took half.
Somehow, the only thing I could remember from last night was Garreth giving us some type of cannabis potion. I forgot practically everything from the night before. You can imagine my surprise when I found a dead rat on my nightstand.
As I was about to enter the restroom, Sebastian walked out of the boys', his eyes going wide when he saw me. I raised a brow as I entered the restroom, but I understood when I saw my reflection in the mirror.
My hair was all over the place. It almost seemed unnatural. I really fit the "witch" stereotype.
Sebastian's reaction was merited. I looked terrifying, like I was some type of beast. I felt so embarrassed that he had seen me in such a state.
"Noo," I whined, running a hand down my face. I was so ashamed. And why did it have to be Sebastian who saw me?!
Then again, we had been with each other at our worst moments. I looked just like this after duels against poachers. I entered a stall, where I changed into my uniform. Surprisingly, I had grown over the summer, and my skirt was shorter and my vest was tighter. My robes looked slightly smaller too. Had I looked like this yesterday too? I'd definitely be due a trip to Hogsmeade for new uniforms next semester.
Making my way out of the stall, I spotted Violet desperately attempting to cover up purple marks on her neck, confused as to why they were there. She must've taken a potion too.
I laughed, averting my gaze so she wouldn't see. I quickly reached for a brush near a sink, running it through my hair. Just with a few brushes, my hair sorted itself out. I separated two strands of hair in the front of my head, pulling it back with a clip.
"Not bad," I murmured to myself, looking at my face in the mirror. Had I really changed over the summer? Not much—at least I didn't think so. It was only a few months, so it wasn't enough time to change drastically. I did go up a shoe size! That was probably the highlight of the days I spent in London over the summer. How I hated that place. I needed to be somewhere exciting! Thank Merlin for Hogwarts. Never a dull moment here.

I walked out of my room, having gone there to pick up a few things after getting ready in the restroom. I took a look at my schedule, which had been delivered by owl.
