Y/N's Perspective

"Merlin's beard, you are so loud," I said in a harsh whisper to Sebastian.

We had used the disillusionment charm to get through the halls unseen. Everyone had already left the Great Hall and headed to their common rooms, so it was only prefects out at this hour.

"It's not my fault my shoes are squeaky! I can't help it," he whispered back, his shoes still making an aggravating sound as they hit the floor.

We fortunately made it to the entrance of the library without being spotted, but Sebastian's shoes certainly had the prefects suspicious.

"Until we get to the restricted section, we've got to be quiet. Can you and your shoes do that? Or do we need to leave them here?" I looked over at where I thought Sebastian's face was.

"I'll be fine. Stay close," he said, grabbing my wrist. Feeling his cool fingers on my arm nearly made me collapse. His touch sent an electric shock through my entire nervous system, almost making me jump.

How had I let things like this happen without a problem last year? And how did I never react this way? Had something changed over the summer?

I despised Sebastian last month, but now, I wasn't sure what I felt about him anymore. Did I even hate him anymore?

I let Sebastian guide me through the library, his hand eventually sliding from my wrist to my hand. His fingers intertwined with mine as if it was nothing. This amazing moment was interrupted when we saw Scribner.

She was sitting at her desk, focused on some book. Sebastian stopped quickly and my head bumped into his back.

"Sebastian!" I hissed, causing Scribner to raise her head.

"Students should not be in the library at this time," she yelled, continuing her search from her desk. Sebastian covered my mouth with his hand, pushing me behind a bookshelf.

We were painfully smushed together. I could feel his breaths as his chest raised and lowered. I swear I felt a strange feeling of flutters in my stomach and chest. Sebastian looked down at me, or at least where he thought I was. I could barely make out an outline of him with the disillusionment charm, but the way the light shined at us, I could see hazel eyes staring back.

What's happening to me?

He lowered his shaky hand from my mouth, his eyes focused on the floor beneath us. I was so thankful that the light didn't allow Sebastian to see my face. He would've seen a bright pink face with a petrified expression on it.

"Sorry," I whispered, backing up from the bookcase. He grabbed my wrist, pulling me back.

"Don't go into the light, she'll see you."

Once the librarian turned her focus back to her book, Sebastian and I continued our sprint to the restricted section. He insisted on taking my wrist as we ran there. I didn't really mind.

"Alohamora," I whispered, unlocking the door that led to the section. We quickly walked down the stairs, undoing the disillusionment charm.

"You almost got us caught!" I laughed as silently as I could.

"You almost did too!" Sebastian said, out of breath from our sprint. He dragged a hand through his hair, laughing along with me. I stared in awe as I watched him smile.
