Y/N's Perspective

"You're doing what?!" Anne shrieked.

"Going out to Hogsmeade with Garreth!" I rolled my eyes as I continued working on my hair.

It was still weird to think about it. This morning when Sebastian and I woke, I didn't have the heart to tell him about my plans with Garreth. My relationship with Sebastian was weird, and I wasn't up for accidentally making him hate me. I'd tell him after! Besides, nothing was going to happen between me and Garreth. He was my good friend, and he was just going to give me tips on the Triwizard Tournament. Like a friend would do!

"After spending the night with Sebastian? Y/N, you play too much," Anne laughed.

"I regret telling you that, you know."

"He's my brother! I was going to find out one way or another. Besides, it's good for him. He's always a nervous wreck around you, so at least he's learning how to act normally."

"Consider his nervousness a thing of the past. We've sorted out our issues, and now we're friends again."

"Friends," Anne said before sucking air in through her teeth. "Don't lie to yourself and say that you wish it wasn't more—"

"Anne!"

She looked at me with raised brows, but then she started to laugh her incredibly contagious laugh. I couldn't stop it from passing on to me.

"You know, I'd let you know if he tells me anything," Anne whispered, a mischievous smirk on her face.

"...Thanks, Anne."

I went back to doing my hair the way I always did it: two strands tied in the back with a ribbon. We had just finished classes, but I was not looking good after having to wrestle a Kneazle in Care of Magical Creatures. But I do have to admit that I put effort into my looks. I didn't want to look embarrassing in front of Garreth! But that goes for everyone. I didn't want to look like I was rolling in mud. Call me crazy!

I quickly slid on a beautiful blue top with peaked sleeves that my mother had sewn me over the summer. She had adorned it with small pieces of lace around the neckline and some fabric that wrapped around my waist. I also wore some black pants and some boots Anne had lended me.

"You look awfully fancy for an outing with a friend," Imelda chimed in, her nose stuck in a book about Quidditch.

"It's not that fancy! I have pants on too," I defended.

"Ahh, getting defensive now, are we, Y/N?" Anne laughed.

"Merlin! You both are insufferable!"

I grabbed a pouch of galleons and some Wiggenwelds before storming out of my room, leaving Anne and Imelda laughing with each other. They had the completely wrong idea! Garreth was one of my good friends, and that feeling was mutual. He'd never make a move on me.

I headed towards the exit of the common room, where Garreth had promised he'd meet me. The dungeons were packed, considering it was a Friday night. There were a few students from other houses hanging out with their friends, but what most stood out to me was seeing Amit with some Slytherins.

"Amit!" I waved and he turned in my direction.

The Ravenclaw boy walked over to greet me, a grin stretching from ear to ear on his face.

"Y/N! Garreth told me you'd be going out today. You look wonderful," he said.

"Thank you, Amit!" I looked down at my clothing, proud of myself for having a good sense of style. Must be hereditary, because my mother's the fashion genius.
