"Look at her, she's moving.""Sebastian, I'm still blind, you know."
"Both of you, quiet. She's waking up."
I suddenly felt the familiar warmth of the sun shining on my face. My eyes slowly opened, revealing to me that I was sitting on a bed in the hospital wing. I had a pounding headache—one much worse than the one I had from the hangover.
Anne, Sebastian, and Ominis stood in front of me, a worried look on all of their faces. My friends instantly perked up when they saw me awake, and they flooded around the bed to ask questions.
"Y/N! How do you feel?" Anne asked, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Does it hurt?" Ominis said.
"Obviously it hurts her, dumbas—" Sebastian spat back, but I interrupted.
"What happened?" I couldn't remember anything. Nothing from today or from yesterday came to mind. It was like my memory from the past 24 hours was wiped clean. "Why am I here?"
My friends looked at each other worriedly. What was going on?
"I'll get Nurse Blainey," Anne sighed before walking off.
"Y/N, you were at Quidditch tryouts. You got selected to be Slytherin's Seeker," Ominis explained.
"I did?" I seriously could not remember a second of it.
My friends nodded. I was confused and upset. I kept on forgetting important things. First with Anne's secret, and now with what happened at tryouts and whatever happened yesterday.
"I can't remember anything from last night or today..." I whispered.
Ominis looked even more worried. "You mean...you don't remember dinner in the Great Hall?"
"No..."
Sebastian's eyes widened at my response. What happened at dinner? What happened at Quidditch tryouts? Why was I in the hospital wing with a head-splitting migraine?
Sebastian was the one to tell me the news. "You were chosen as the Triwizard Champion for Slytherin."
Suddenly, memories of dinner last night flooded back into my brain. I remembered Eric, Charlotte, Everett, and me being chosen for the tournament. The sounds of everyone cheering for us was so clear now. It was an exciting moment for everyone. I remembered Professor Weasley saying our first trial would be in three days, now two days.
"And...last night?" I asked, watching their expressions very closely.
Ominis turned to face where Sebastian was. The look on his face was funny. "I have to go talk to Blainey too. Sebastian, it's on you." He darted away after Anne.
"What happened, Sebastian?" I picked at the skin around my fingers anxiously. I really wanted to remember, but I just couldn't.
"There was a party. You really don't remember?" He got closer, trying to grab my hand, but I backed up in my bed.
I still didn't like Sebastian. At least I don't recall liking him. Last I remembered, I told him I needed time. Time away from him. We were still on a "friendship" break, as Anne had called it one night in our room.
"No," I shook my head.
Sebastian sighed and backed up as well. "Alright..." He rubbed his temples. "Nothing important happened. I remember you went to bed early, that's it."
I nodded, my hands gripping at the sheets of the hospital bed. "And tryouts? Why am I hurt?"
"A bludger hit you when you were trying to catch the snitch," Sebastian explained. "It was out of control—well, more like it was being controlled. It was so strange, Y/N. It hit you in the head and knocked you off your broom right as you caught the snitch."
