At school, people were getting on a bus boat thing to go to watch the game of the sport. Luz runs over talking to herself. "Hexside is gonna wreck your side. No." She stops thinking of something else to say. "Hexside is the best side on the west side." She gasps seeing the bus boat's head move, she slowly walks backwards until she bumps into Yn. "Ah, friends." She greets, seeing Willow and Gus in Hexside clothes, Willow in a cap of blue and yellow and Gus in a jumper of the same colouring. "Game day roar." They all shout, Yn looks at them waving a blue flag, with a small smile on his face. "Happy game day, fellow... Are we Hesidians? Hexies? Hexoleos?" Luz wonders. Yn puts a hand on her shoulder "Actually, most people call us winners." Yn tells her. "Grudgby games are the best. The players go through these action-packed trials. And the audience gets to wave flags. Look, I practised." Gus gets out two blue flags and does a little dance while humming. "Is it weird that I'm not wearing anything Hexside?" Luz looks down at her purple and white shirt, with a hood. "Um. It's weirder that you're weaning Glandus colours." Willow explains. Yn was staring at Gus who was spinning the flags by the flag. He has officially lost any faith in that boy. "Get ready to be creamed, Glandus nerd." A giant student says walking past and pushing her head down, Luz was very quick to correct him. "Gotta change out of this shirt. Where can I get a Hexside one?" Luz pulls on her shirt to further her point.

"I know. There's a lost-and-found box in the cafeteria." Gus informs the human girl.

Luz comes back out with a blue jumper and shirt, and a hat with straws and pom-pom. She jumps up and lands doing the splits giving a sticking crack as she lands. She looks up seeing that the bus thing has gone leaving Willow, Yn and Gus standing outside. "Where is everyone?" She asks but gets her answer as the bus roars flying off. "Oh, no. Come back. Why didn't you guys board the bus?" Luz runs down the stairs standing next to her friends.

"We weren't going to leave you behind." Willow reasons.

"I was." Yn crosses his arms looking down at the floor, but his confession earns a rib gab from the kinder witch Willow. "Can we walk to Glandus?" Luz questions.

"We'd never make it in time. Glandus is all the way out in the middle of the island." Gus starts to play with his flags. "Typical Glandus." she groans.

"And my parents are working, otherwise I'd see if they could give us a ride on their staff." Willow tells them, which gives Luz a brilliant idea.

-Time skip-

Luz tells the trio to wait outside as she goes to ask Eda to borrow Oldbert. "Yn?" Willow asks, causing him to hum. "I have two questions. One, why can't we use your staff and two, in all the time I've known you, you've never taken your hood off, why?" Yn looks down at her, YCE eyes meeting olive green ones. "One, because I don't always use my staff and two... because I don't feel like people should see that side of me." He crosses his arms looking away from the young witch. "Why? What's so bad that-" However Gus never got to finish as Luz came out of the house with Eda's staff. They all get on, Luz first, then Willow then Gus. Yn sighs, getting on the back, grabbing the wood, getting a familiar feeling but brushes it off and lets Luz take off.

Long story short they crash, hurting Owlbert with a crack on his head this causes him to go into the forest which also causes the others to chase after him. Luz was calling the palisman running deeper into the forest. "Man, humans can run. Must be their dorsal fins. And Yn because of you're long legs." Gus breathes out, out of breath just like Willow, while Luz and Yn look very not out of breath, looking into the dark forest that Owlbert went into. "He went through those trees. Come on." Luz was about to start running again but Willow stopped her by grabbing her wrist that wasn't holding the staff. "We have to be careful. It's really easy to get lost in this part of the forest." Willow tells her, concerned that they could get lost.

"This is Eda's Palisman, Willow. She made Owlbert and would kill Luz if we don't get him back. I know my way around these parts, we just have to stick together and not look at the floor. I'll do a light spell so we have better lighting, okay?" Yn smiles trying to ease Willow's stress and holds a hand for her to take. She smiles unsure but still takes Yn's hand. He uses his other hand to create a light ball and takes lead into the forest, the other two followings.

The trees had no leaves and also there were bones on the floor and thick curtains of webs. Although it was midday there was no sun, just an eerie atmosphere that came from a horror movie. "This isn't like any forests I'm used to." Luz moves some webs with the staff.

"That's because this isn't a forest..." Willow hides behind Yn as three bat head babies walk out. "It's a nest."

"Hey, I remember you. You're Bat Queen's babies." Luz says, making Willow and Gus step back. "Wait. The Bat Queen?" Gus looks around trying to find the mother.

"I think I'd rather take my chances with Eda." Willow utters. Luz, however, ignores her friends and kneels down to the babies. "We're looking for a little owl and..." She looks into the cave seeing the said owl. "There he is." She smiles, but Owlbert doesn't show the same happiness, grumbling and stepping back deeper into the cave. "Owlbert, thank goodness you're okay. Come here, bubby. Time to go home." Once Luz finished talking, a pale, white foot stepped in front of the small owl. It moved forwards showing the Bat Queen in all her glory, not looking so happy.

Everyone gasps, as she walks to them stopping at her children. "Hello, small human, tall witch." She greets Luz and Yn. Yn waves to her as one of the bat children flies onto his head and lands on it. "It's the..." Willow gets cut off by Luz.

"Bat Queen. I know. We kinda babysat her kids once. Don't worry. I got this." She looks back at the Queen. "Hiya, BQ. My, your hair is looking greasy. And you kids, they're as hideous as ever." She 'complimented'. "You know, that could've gone worse." Gus puts his hands on his hips, smiling lightly. Bat Queen grunts at Luz, showing her teeth. "Heh. So, Owlbert ran away and I need to get him back. I'm just gonna grab him and we'll be on our way." Luz tries to get closer but is stopped by Bat Queen's foot. She goes on to explain that Luz broke Owlbert's trust and if she wants him back she has to do three 'impossible' trials. To add to this Willow and Gus are tied in place by some roots. Yn though, Yn just stands there with a bat baby on his head.

Luz's first trial was to milk the spider demon, which she does. Next was to remove a bees nest, however, the harmless-looking nest turns into an overgrown wasp that starts to chase Luz. "Yn why aren't you trapped?" Willow asks as Gus breaks the roots but BQ quickly replaces than dangling him in the air. "I babysit her kids a lot as you can see they like me, she knows that if she ties me up she'll lose me as a babysitter. She may be a demon but she's smart. So..." he looks to Luz who's still running from the wasp. "She knows when she's being insulated!" he shouts.

"I'm sorry!" Luz cries. Luz's last trial was to bathe her kids, which was the easiest trial.

Luz watches as the last flame disappears, Gus once again frees himself but is back in roots upside down. "Okay, Bat Queen. That's the last one." Luz wipes her forehead. "I've done all your chores, and I've proved my dedication to Owlbret." Luz's talk to the Bat Queen turns into a battle after freeing her friends. Yn was leaning against the cave wall, watching as Willow and Gus get peeked at by the children. "You got this!" He encouraged them.

He feels a prick on his hand. He looks down seeing a weird dark green slug with darker green patches. "Ow." he hits the bug off, flexing his hand seeing a red spot left behind, and some green cracks before they disappear, "Weird." Before he could think more of it Luz calls him over, telling him they can go. He looks down at his hand again before walking off, not seeing the slug dissolve into the dirt. "Coming." he says, leaning them back out of the forest and going their separate ways.
