➴ A taennie story...ლ
Rose's POV
It was a lazy Saturday morning, and my motivation was at an all-time low. I wanted to stay in bed, sleep all day, and just sing. Maybe that's why my father bought me an apartment—to avoid hearing my voice all day. Even though I have an angelic voice (if I do say so myself), I can understand it might get annoying. But today wasn't about me; I needed to help Jennie with her stage fright. The competition was in about a week.
The girls and I agreed to meet at 5 p.m. at my place since I lived alone. It was the best way to practice without disturbing anyone. Lisa was the first to arrive, and Jisoo showed up fifteen minutes later. But Jennie was nowhere to be found.
We called her multiple times, but she didn't answer. We texted, but there was no response. We knew Jennie could take care of herself, but we couldn't help but worry. I even drove to her house, but she wasn't there, and her mom had no idea where she was. Her mom seemed the most worried—her daughter was missing. I drove back home, anxious to update the girls.
When I walked into my apartment, I was shocked to see Jennie sitting on my couch. I rushed over to her and yelled, "Yaa! Where were you? We were so worried."
"Rossiiiiee, I'm sorry. I missed the bus and had to wait for the next one. Then my phone stopped working again. I really need to get it repaired," she said defensively.
I went to my bedroom, rummaged through some drawers, and returned with my old phone. "It's still working perfectly. I just wanted the newest model, so I bought a new one. You can have this one," I said, handing it to her.
"Rose, that's really nice of you, but I can't accept that. That phone is really expensive," she tried to refuse, but I insisted.
"Thank you so much," she said and hugged me.
"Okay, now that that's done, we can start helping you with your stage fright," Jisoo said.
"Yes, what's your great plan, Chaeyoung?" Lisa added.
After Explaining the Plan
"That's your great plan?" Lisa said, disappointed.
"Yes, do you have a better one?" I defended myself.
"You want Jennie to sing in front of us first and think it will 'cure' her fright?" Jisoo asked.
"Well, Jennie said she's scared to sing in front of people. If she can overcome that fear with us, it won't matter how many people hear her voice," I explained.
"That might work in theory, but how is it supposed to work in practice?" Jennie asked.
"Well, you have to try singing in front of us as many times as it takes. Look, if you have a better idea, we can try that," I continued.
