➴ A taennie story...ლ

Taehyungs POV

The first chemistry lesson of the week had barely started, and I already felt a deep reluctance to continue attending this damn 'school'—more accurately, 'university'. The idea of sitting through another monotonous lecture was unbearable. I needed a break. I decided to skip the upcoming lesson, hoping to find a moment of peace. I headed towards the parking lot, scanning the area to ensure it was clear of any nosy onlookers. I couldn't be bothered with the noisy girls who usually followed me around.

Seeing no one, I made my way to the side of the parking lot, where I could smoke in peace. Smoking had always been a way for me to calm down when something was bothering me. As I lit my cigarette, I watched the cars drive back and forth, each on its own path, each with its own purpose. I found a strange comfort in their predictable motion, a stark contrast to the chaos of my thoughts.

After finishing my cigarette, I heard voices approaching. At first, I thought they were the usual noisy fan girls, so I quickly hid behind a nearby tree. But as the voices grew clearer, I recognized them—it was Jennie and her friends. They were talking about what had happened yesterday, which made me chuckle silently. Their conversation was light and amusing, but then, out of nowhere, one of them mentioned a topic I thought none of them would ever talk about.

Jimin called Taehyung 'Boss'. Who would call their friends boss? And did you guys forget about the rumors when that one mansion burned down? It was said that someone in our school had something to do with it.

I stood there, blown away by what I had just heard. Realizing the precarious situation the boys and I were in, I accidentally stepped on a stick, making a loud noise. Jisoo heard it and sauntered over to the tree I was hiding behind. I quickly crouched behind the bush next to the tree. Thankfully, she didn't see me and left.

"I need to meet up with the boys," I muttered to myself, running my hand through my hair as I contemplated our next move.

Jisoos POV

Classes were over for the day, and I had a task to complete. I drove to the address Jimin had sent me via text message. The message was cryptic, as always:

You're welcome 😉
XY Street, No. XY*

I parked next to the tall wall surrounding his house—more accurately, a mansion. The gate was adorned with beautiful flowers, adding an air of elegance to the imposing structure. I rang the bell, and a man with a deep voice responded through the intercom.

"Hello, Miss. How can I help you?"

"Uh, hello. My professor told me to bring the assignment to Jin. We completed it today in class," I said, holding a binder with the homework and my notes. Without further ado, the gate opened, and I stepped inside.

The garden was breathtaking, filled with vibrant flowers and a majestic fountain. Fairy lights were strung up, adding a magical touch to the scene. Though I came from a wealthy background myself, it was clear Jin's lifestyle was on another level. I felt a bit out of place.

As I approached the front door, it opened, and Jimin emerged with two beautiful women, laughing at a joke he had made. Our eyes met, but we both pretended not to know each other.

"Hello, Miss. I will lead you to the master's bedroom upstairs," a maid greeted me with a lowered gaze. She started to walk ahead when I stopped her.

"Thank you, but can't I give this to you to pass to Jin? I have other things to do," I said, holding out the binder.

"I'm sorry, Miss, but the master asked to see you personally," she insisted, leading the way upstairs. I had no choice but to follow.

The interior of the mansion was just as impressive as the garden, with opulent decor and an air of sophistication. The maid led me to a large door, knocking softly before ushering me inside.

"Hello, Jisoo," Jin greeted me, standing up from his chair with a warm smile.

"Hey, this won't take long. Here's the homework we need to do by next week, and my class notes to help you understand the topic better," I said, handing him the binder. "You can give the notes back next week; I already did my homework."

"Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm feeling better now, so I'll be back tomorrow. Would you like a cup of coffee or something to drink?" he asked, his eyes filled with genuine curiosity.

Just as I was about to answer, his phone rang. He excused himself and stepped out onto the balcony to take the call, his expression quickly turning serious. He returned a moment later, looking apologetic.

"I'm sorry, something urgent came up. I have to go. I'll escort you out," he said.

"It's fine; I was going to decline anyway. I have something to do too," I added, trying to brush off any awkwardness.

He walked me to the gate, thanking me once again. "Oh, it's fine. I was just following the professor's instructions," I said, trying to keep the conversation light.

He grinned and, unexpectedly, took my hand, planting a soft kiss on the back of it. "See you tomorrow," he winked, heading to his car.

Thankfully, he left without looking back, because I was blushing like a tomato. As I walked back to my car, I couldn't help but think about the strange encounter and what it meant for the days ahead.
