➴ A taennie story...ლ

Jennie's POV

I could feel the morning sun that was shining through the big window right on my face. I slowly opened my eyes only to see that this wasn't my room. I quickly sat up and saw that I was in Rose's room. I touched my forehead and I groaned. I never had such a bad headache before. "What happend?" I asked myself.

Just then, Rose entered with a glass of water.

"Oh good, you're awake," she said, placing the glass on the nightstand next to the bed.

"What happened? Why am I at your apartment?" I asked, confused.

"You really don't remember?" she replied, scoffing in disbelief.

"Why, what happened? Can you just tell me? Otherwise, I'll think something really bad happened."

"Oh girl, it did. You came home with Taehyung at like 1 AM," she said.

"What?! How did that happen?"

"That's what I wanted to ask you. He called me and asked where you lived since you were so drunk you couldn't tell him. Instead, I had him bring you here. Otherwise, your mother would have freaked out. You're welcome."

"Oh no... no, no." Suddenly, fragments of the night started coming back to me: the fight, the restaurant, the drinks. But everything else was blurry, and I couldn't piece it all together. I flopped back onto Rose's bed, covering my face with my hands.

"Now get ready. I put some clothes out for you to wear. I don't have any extra school uniforms ready, so normal clothes will have to do." She handed me some headache pills before standing up. As she was about to leave the room to give me some privacy to change, I quickly thanked her.

In school

Rosie parked her Porsche in the school parking lot. We got out and walked towards the entrance. As we approached, I saw Taehyung leaning against his Mercedes-AMG, surrounded by a group of adoring girls. I tried to avoid looking at him, feeling awkward about yesterday.

Rose nudged me. "Nini, he's looking at you."

"Who?" I asked, as she subtly pointed at Taehyung.

"Don't be ridiculous," I muttered, walking ahead into the building.

"Jennie, wait!" Rose called, hurrying to catch up.

Our first class was English, so we headed in that direction.

"Why did you even go out drinking on a Sunday night? You knew we had school today," she asked.

"I didn't plan on drinking. I was supposed to meet my boyfriend, but he stood me up, so I walked home. But now that you mention it, I need to break up with him." I took out my phone and texted him that it was over.

"How many boyfriends have you had in the last four years?"

"I lost count a long time ago."

"And it's all because of one guy named Ka—" I quickly covered her mouth.

"Rose, I love you, but never EVER mention that name again, please."

Jisoos POV

First class on a Monday morning: History. Great. I was already so tired I thought I'd fall asleep. The professor was teaching about World War II. I always liked history because it showed us the mistakes of the past so we wouldn't repeat them. But the professor's monotone delivery made it hard to stay awake.

Suddenly, a loud bang jolted me awake. The professor had punched my desk to wake me up.

"Miss Kim, can you tell me what happened next after all the concentration camps were shut down?" he asked, eyebrow raised.

I stared at him, speechless. Before I could respond, he continued, "Since you had the audacity to sleep during my lesson, you have a special homework assignment." He handed me a sheet of paper. "Deliver this homework to the student who missed today's class. His name is Kim Seokjin."

"Not him, ugh," I thought to myself.

"But Mr. Walker, I don't know where he lives," I protested.

He pointed at Jimin, two rows ahead. "They're friends. I'm sure he can tell you."

After History class, I approached Jimin as he packed his notes.

"Hey, um, could you give me Jin's address?" I didn't like talking to him or his friends, but I had no choice.

"Sure, I can text it to you."

"Can't you just write it down?"

"I could, but I think I should have your number in case something like yesterday happens again."

"Okay, I gue—wait, what do you mean 'something like yesterday'?" I was baffled.

"Didn't Rose tell you? Jennie was totally drunk and Taehyung had to drive her home."

"What?!!" I hadn't heard any of this. I quickly scribbled my number and ran out.

I Facetimed the girls. "YOU LITTLE WENCH, YOU HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO," I yelled.

"Who are you talking to?" Lisa asked.

"JENNIE." Lisa seemed equally clueless. "Parking lot. Now," Lisa said, serious.

We met at my car, and Jennie told us everything.

"Guys, it's not a big deal. It's embarrassing, but it's not like I've never been out with a guy that late," Jennie said.

"True, but Taehyung is hiding something, just like his 'friends,'" I said bitterly.

"What do you mean?" Rose asked.

I looked around to ensure no one was listening. "Remember when we had that argument with Tzuyu and her 'henchmen'? Jimin called Taehyung 'Boss.' Who calls their friend 'Boss'? And do you remember the rumors about that mansion burning down? They said someone from our school was involved."

"Oh my God, I also heard him call Taehyung 'Boss'," Lisa added.

"That's odd, but the mansion thing is just a rumor," Jennie said.

"I know, Nini. I just want you to be careful. All of you," I said, looking at Jennie, Lisa, and Rose.

"I love when you're concerned about us," Jennie said, kissing my cheek. I laughed cheerfully. These girls were my happiness, the few people I cared about. We hugged.

"Wait, how did you find out about yesterday?" Rosie asked.

"Long story short, I fell asleep in History, got punished by having to deliver homework to Jin, and had to ask Jimin for his address. Jimin insisted on getting my number 'just in case' something like yesterday happened again."

"So that's how Taehyung got my number," Rose said, enlightened. I nodded.

"Anyway, we have to get inside; we're already late," Lisa added.

"Go ahead, I need to get something from my car." They nodded and left.

As I opened my car, I heard a rustling behind a nearby tree. I looked around but saw nothing. "Probably a squirrel," I muttered, grabbing what I needed from the car.

"Hey, guys, wait!" I called after the girls. They had only reached the entrance, moving slowly.
