Nirmaan revealed everything to her without holding back a single detail. Subi's eyes were fixed on his, her face a picture of utter shock and disbelief.
She couldn't fathom the fact that there was someone who had always been looking out for her, someone who loved her unconditionally. Her Maan had never expected anything in return. The love he had for her was pure and selfless. Maan had become the sunshine of her life, and now she wanted to reciprocate that love in every way possible.
"Biwi?...Biwi?", Nirmaan called out to her twice, but she was lost in thought. When her husband gently shook her shoulder, she snapped back to reality. "Huh..?", "Are you okay..?", he asked, concern etched on his face.
Just then, Subi flung herself into Maan's arms, embracing him tightly. "I'm so sorry, Maan...I'm really very sorry..." she whispered, her voice trembling.
"Sorry for what?", he asked, breaking the hug and looking at her with confusion.
"For everything...for doubting you...for not trusting you...and for being foolish enough not to realize that there was someone who was always looking out for me. How could I be such an idiot for even thinking about letting you go? I love you, Maan. You've always been there for me, and now I want to do the same for you," she said, her words pouring out like a confession.

They lay there, Subi's head on his chest, Maan's arms wrapped tightly around her. His eyes were closed, a look of deep relaxation on his face, as if he had finally found peace.
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me," Subi whispered to herself, her thumb caressing his cheek. "This time, I won't step back. I will do everything possible to become the best decision of your life, and one day you will say it yourself. I promise to make you forget every insecurity, every doubt that you have inside you, just like you did for me."
As she was promising herself, her thumb caressed his cheek, slowly tracing the scar near his eye. Subi pulled herself up and gently kissed the scar before snuggling into his chest and drifting off to sleep, her arms wrapped tightly around her husband.
