Denise had completely forgotten about Tyler's stupid behavior and was happy to be with him.

She finally felt loved again.

Her father was a heavy drinker and often came home late at night, drunk and angry.

He took out his frustrations on Denise and beat her mercilessly for the slightest mistake.

Her mother was also a heavy drinker and would emotionally abuse Denise.

Her mother would tell her that she was useless and that she would never achieve anything in life.

This constant emotional abuse had a profound effect on Denise's self-esteem, and she grew up feeling unworthy and unloved and now she was also heartbroken.

It was too much for her to handle.

She felt like everything in her life was falling apart..

The combination of Tyler's betrayal and her home life sent Denise spiraling into a deep depression.
