Chapter 7

Trickster

         It has been about a week and I haven't heard anything from Eric or the Demigod. After Dustin and I learned about the Demigod, I informed Tucker about it. Dustin decided to keep my old pack out of this so we don't start a war. And the downside of this all is that I can't go anywhere without Dustin or his Beta, Sam.

         At the moment I'm reading in the living room and of course Sam is on the couch playing video games. I hear him growl under his breath as someone in the game shoots him. It's really hard to read when a werewolf is trying to play a game made for humans. Because they will growl, yell, and break controllers as they play.

         Soon someone enters the house and an amazing scent fills my nose. I look up from my book to see Dustin walking into the living room his eyes instantly meeting mine. I smile at him and close my book as Dustin walks towards me.

He returns it for a second before quickly frowning and stops in his tracks. I frown to and get up from the chair while laying my book on the coffee table. "What's wrong?" I ask and Sam pauses his game to look at his Alpha. Dustin glances at his Beta before looking back at me. "A rogue that claims to be Eric Maining crossed the border." Dusting says with no emotion in his voice.

Sam stands up instantly and waits for his orders. "Stay here and make sure Maxine stays safe." Dustin says and Sam nods at his Alpha. "No, I'm coming with you." I retort and Dustin narrows his eyes at me. He's trying to get me to summit. "You are staying here." He says using his Alpha voice and I scoff. "I'm going with you. For all we know this could really be Eric and not the Demigod. I will now if it's Eric or not." I say and Dustin is quiet.

 "Dustin if I'm going to be Luna of this pack you will need to let me do my job." I add and Dustin then takes a hold of my hand and nods slowly. I smile at him and we start walking towards the door. Then I realize that Sam is not here anymore. "Where did Sam go?" I ask as we make it to the woods. "I mind link him to go ahead and get there." He says as he takes off his shirt.

         "Whoa! Okay I will shift over here." I say quickly as I scurry off to a bush. I can hear him chuckle a little as I run away. I then strip out of my clothes and shift into my wolf, Mystic. My wolf is pure white except for the black patch around my right eye and at the end of my tail.

I walk out from behind the bush with my clothes in my mouth. Soon I'm met with familiar blue eyes that belong now to a giant black wolf. I watch as Dustin, or Dylan, looks over my wolf's body. Then he licks me on the cheek and motions me to follow him. As he takes off into the woods I'm quick to go after him.

As we run I notice that Dustin is not going his full speed because he thinks I can't go as fast. I snort at that and quickly pick up Sam's scent before going my full speed. "Come catch us." My wolf says and I yap in agreement. Soon a black blur runs past me and when I look back in front of me, Dustin is there. I huff and quickly speed up my pace.

Soon Dustin stops behind a bush and lays his clothes on the ground. Before I can find a place to shift back, Dustin shifts back and I turn away quickly. I take off to a bush and quickly shift back and put my clothes on. When I walk back out Dustin is still nude staring at me. I screech and quickly cover my eyes with my hands. "Warn me next time, now get dressed." I say.

"Why would I warn you? You're going to see it someday." He says and I hear him putting his clothes on. "Okay." He sighs and I uncover my eyes to see him in ball shorts. "Come on my Mystique Loup." Dustin says and I grab a hold of his hand as he leads us to a group of werewolves.

And in the middle of the group is Eric sitting on the ground in pain. Eric's clothes are ripped up in many ways and there's blood coming out of his leg. Looking at which ever Eric this is makes me want to kill him and run up and hug him at the same time. "Rise." Dustin growls at the injured rogue.

Eric jumps a little and does what he was told but painfully. Then Eric looks at me and his eyes lighten up a little. "Max it's so good to see you." Eric says in a weak voice. "Shut it! Why are you here Demigod?" Dustin shouts and Eric shrinks away a little. "I promise you I'm not the Demigod. No, I don't expect you to believe me, but I did say, "I hope to see you soon" to Maxine." Eric says and I know I probably shouldn't but I do believe him. It's really Eric.   

"It really is you." I whisper and Dustin glances at me. "Are you sure?" Dustin asks me and I nod with a smile. Eric smiles a little before collapsing to the ground in pain. I move to help him but Dustin stops me and Eric suddenly freezes. Soon a scent fills my nose and it seems almost familiar.

"He found me. Max you need to run now!" Eric says as he shifts into his wolf and gets in a fighting stance in front of me. "Eric you're too weak." I say before suddenly something hits my arm. I fall the ground in pain as I look at the dart. Soon everyone has been shot by them and it causes everyone to fall asleep, even Dustin.

As my eyes start drooping I see 'Eric', the Demigod, crouching over me with a smile on his face. "Nice to see you again Maxine." He says and that's when everything goes dark. 

I'm back guys!!! That break really helped me! I hope to be able to update this story more now that school is over and summer break has started! Thanks for supporting me!
