-See you tomorrow.
Yoko slammed the door of Agasa's car. However, he didn't start the vehicle to find out if anything was happening to her. She had refused to stay with the man, just wanting to rest.
With her badge, the young girl unlocked the front door of the building and climbed the stairs to reach the floor where she lived. She checked first if the door was locked before unlocking it. She preferred to be careful especially since she was alone, always compared to the two times she had been followed.
The girl with the glasses closed the door with the key and took off her shoes not without sending a message to Conan to say that she was back. That way, she didn't worry anyone.
The apartment was dark and quiet. It contrasted with the weekend at the campsite.
-I'm hungry... Mumbled Yoko.
She hadn't eaten anything since last night. She hadn't been so hungry because of the case, but now that she was back and calm, the feeling of hunger came back to her.
Without turning on the light, she headed for the kitchen and opened the fridge to take the first thing that came to hand. She hurriedly ate it and headed to her room. She let herself fall into bed, without changing her clothes, and fell asleep almost immediately.
Jinpei unlocked the door not without yawning. He had just passed by Agasa knowing that Yoko was coming home today, but the young girl was not at the professor's. She had already returned. He was going to have to talk to her about it.
The policeman turned on the lights. Person. It was quiet. He walked to Yoko's room. She was slumped and asleep on her bed, without a blanket. The man sighed and went to put a blanket on her back. That way, she would have less risk of catching cold.
Once done, Jinpei went to the kitchen and heated some water to make instant noodles for himself as a meal. It had been a while since he had eaten it.
Yoko opened her eyes and sat up. She looked around, taking a while to figure out where she was and she didn't know how long she had slept. She could see that it was evening, since it was dark outside. There was just the faint moonlight to illuminate her room.
-... What time is it... ?
She grabbed her phone and was dazzled by the light. She turned off her screen abandoning the idea of seeing the time. She wasn't ready to face such a strong light right now, especially in the dark and barely awake.
She put the phone down and stood up, heading for the door. When she opened it, the young girl shielded her eyes a little while she got used to the light. This light was more pleasant and less strong than that of her phone
The former high school girl arrived in the room where she saw Jinpei settling down at the table.
-Good evening Matsuda-keiji... She greeted, yawning and rubbing her eyes.
-Yo. I wouldn't think you'd wake up now. Replied the policeman.
The little girl also sat down at the table before putting her head in her arms, not least going back to sleep.
-Wow, you have a head of unearthed. The man scoffed.
-... Eh... ?
- In fact, you're absolutely not awake...
After a few minutes, Yoko raised her head and rubbed her eyes. Jinpei had just finished his noodles. Neither of them spoke to each other, so that created a heavy silence.
- By the way, I learned what happened this weekend. I hope you're OK. Finally say the man.
The young girl looked at him, not without yawning slightly.
- Yeah... Let's say it could have been better... I didn't think there was going to be a murder... I even thought that everything would be fine...
There was another silence.
-I would have just liked to have happier memories in mind... But... On the other hand, I would have liked to go home earlier but you weren't there... She finished by saying.
The policeman turned to the young girl with an annoyed look. He had just remembered that he had something to tell her.
-Speaking of going home, you could have told me that the old man had dropped you off! He said loudly and annoyed.
-... Hey?
The girl blinked several times without understanding what he was talking about. Even trying to search through her memories.
-I came to pick you up as usual at the old man's and you weren't there. He explained to me that you had asked him to drop you off here. It's good, it comes back to you?
Yoko took a few moments to remember that she had indeed asked for this. This made her let out a shy laugh.
- What's funny?
-No... Nothing... It's just that I completely forgot to warn you, it's absolutely not wanted, sorry...
-Fortunately this is not intended!
-Bah... Er... To be honest, I was much too tired... I didn't think about it anymore... I just wanted to go home, eat and sleep... She explained.
The young girl looked away, preferring to avoid the one her tutor was throwing at her. The man, when to him, contented himself with sighing and going to take his jacket.
-Are you... are you going out?
-I'm not going to let you starve. You must not have eaten much all day. I'll just go get you something to eat at the combini, I'll be right back. He explained to her.
Looking back, it was true that she was hungry. She still hadn't eaten anything substantial.
-I can come with you ? she asked.
- You stay there.
With these words, Jinpei left the apartment hanging tightly to lock the door. Yoko therefore remained alone, on her chair, before sighing. She hadn't expected what had just happened, her tutor grumbling about the fact that she hadn't warned him.
-I should be more careful...
She stood up and stretched her full length. She no longer felt tired, or at least light.
-I feel that I will not sleep at night...
She went to her room to get some clothes. A good shower would do her good.
