Chapter 26 - He discovered it...

   Several days had passed. Ai was better after going out to a place where there were dogs. And since then, there had been nothing exceptional. A normal life like Yoko loved, like what she used to... Or almost...

   Although lately, something has been bothering her. She regularly felt Conan's gaze on her, but never for long. She didn't dare ask him, but if it continued, she would have to.
   Conan was now convinced. Convinced that his classmate with glasses was not just a child. He had taken the time to investigate as soon as he had time, on the place of the strange explosion or by asking questions with the police, in particular Takagi, Sato or even Jinpei. And all he had gotten had only confirmed what he had started to think a while ago. He only had to confirm with the person concerned.

   - Shall we play football? Genta  suggested coming out of the school.
   -Why not ! Mitsuhiko accepted.
   -Haibara-san, Yoko-chan, are you coming too? Ayumi asked.
   There were a few seconds of silence.
   -Why not. The redhead accepted.
   -Do you mind if I just take pictures? I don't actually like football... Asked the girl with the glasses.
   The small group accepted, asking if they could have the photos once finished, which the former high school student didn't refuse. After all, a few days before, she had been named the Detective Boys' photographer.

   They arrived at the nearest park to the school and started to play. There were two teams: Conan and Ayumi for the first, Genta, Mitsuhiko and Ai for the second.
   Yoko, her, turned around the soccer field. She had fun taking pictures of her comrades when they scored a goal, although there was only Conan, when they fell or even when they took a break.

   -Conan! It's not possible to win against you! The bigger boy of the group complained as they left the park.
   Everyone was a bit exhausted. They had been playing for quite a while, night was beginning to fall.
   -We better hurry home. Ai announced in a calm tone.
   -I'm going to ask Matsuda-keiji to pick me up... I don't really know the way from here so...
   The girl with the glasses laughed nervously before turning her gaze to Conan who spoke.
   -I'll take her home. Go home without me. He announced.

   The brunette with tied hair looked at him surprised. If she expected that... It wasn't the first time she was left alone by her friends, since she was the only one not living in Beika. On the one hand, she could always take this opportunity to ask him why he looked at her so often, these last days.

   -See you tomorrow ! Greeted the group as they walked away.
   Conan and Yoko thus found themselves alone. The silence settled down between the two as they made their way to school.
   They continued to say nothing to each other for the next few minutes, one playing with his ball, the other sorting through her photos. She decided to break the silence.
   -Uh... Say Conan-ku...
   - I wanted to ask you a question. He cut her off.
   -Huh?... Is that why you're taking me home?
   -That's one of the reasons.
   The ball fell to the ground. The young boy put his foot on it. His gaze had become serious.
   -Have you ever seen two men dressed entirely in black by any chance?
   -... Eh ?

   This look and this serious tone, this question... Quite surprised the former high school girl. Two men in black... Was he talking about those two famous men? Those who had wanted to kill her? Those who had killed Yosuke?
   She took a step back, then two, her eyes widening. She didn't know what to answer to this question. If she say yes, what would happen? What if she said no?

    - In view of your reaction, I'm sure I'm right... Am I wrong? He announced.

   She tried to answer something, but couldn't. She couldn't figure out what to answer first.
   -I took the liberty of investigating you... Sato-keiji answered me rather easily, and some things made me twitch. In particular, your outfit when they found you... I tried to question Matsuda-keiji, but he didn't really give me an answer... He knows about...
   -Why did you investigate me already?! And how do you know it's two men in black that...
   Yoko could not finish her sentence. She needed to regain her calm. But how, now that she had approved his words?

   There was a silence. It lasted what seemed like an eternity.

   The only answer he got was a nod of her head.
   -Did he force you to take a capsule?
   Again the same answer. He just stared at her. It would have been nice if she could say more. After all, maybe it was going to bring clues about them. But... She didn't seem able to speak. Or maybe she didn't want to?

   -... Co... Conan-kun... I'm going home... From here I... I should be able...
   With a quick step, the young passed in front of her comrade, head lowered, clenched fist slightly trembling. She didn't turn around, held out as she continued to be stared at. She just wanted to go home, even though she had lots of questions.
   She who just wanted to be quiet, who had managed to live normally again... Why now? Why tell her about her past? What was she trying to put aside? Why the sudden return of these two men? And above all, what was going to happen to her from now on? Conan was an unusual child... Could he be allied with these men?

   It is in this same state of mind that Yoko returned. Jinpei approached the door in the entrance.
   -You could answer when I send you messages... He grumbled.
   Very quickly, he noticed that the kid he was babysitting was not in his normal state. Especially since the latter dropped against my door, sitting on the floor.
   -What is happening to you ? Asked the policeman.
