Our hearts have been tamed
Our ribs as our cage
This life is a play
And the world is a stage
The people are paper
They've become merely props
They live by the quo
Without it, they're lost
They fall in paper love,
And live in paper towns.
All it takes is a whisper
To blow it all downThe laughter is forced;
The friends interchangeable.
Happiness fleeting;
And nothing is tangible.
They live their whole lives
With their heads in the clouds
Refusing reality;
Embracing the shroud.
And so they will stay,
The people of paper.
Absolved in the now,
Forgetting the later.
