Desertion

17 1 1

You were the wind at my back.
You took me to sea,
But then you died down.
Now I'm left with a breeze.
Just a whisper of you
That plays with my hair,
And effects the soft ripples
In the folds of my sails.
Just enough to remind me
That I'm alone.
But not quite enough
To get me home.

So I'm stranded at sea;
Forever waiting on you.
But I guess you don't care
To come to my rescue.
