The next day.
Kent and Kathleen slept together in the same tent. But Kathleen had woken up first, and was socializing with residents of the reserve. And when she finished talking to a group of people, she walked over to their tent and woke Kent up.
"Good morning." Said Kathleen.
"Huh?" Groaned Kent as he slowly opened his eyes.
"I said good morning." Chuckled Kathleen.
"Oh, good morning to you too then." Said Kent.
"What's the plan for today?" Asked Kathleen.
"Well, I have no clue. I literally just woke up." Said Kent.
"Sorry, I'm just bored. I've been up for a while just chatting with the residents here." Said Kathleen.
"You're good. Honestly, I would've done the same thing." Said Kent.
Kent then sat up on his cot, and Kathleen sat next to him.
"How about we see what Arthur needs help with?" Suggested Kent.
"Okay. That doesn't seem to bad of an idea." Replied Kathleen.
"I'll go ask him." Said Kent.
"No, no. You just woke up and you need to get ready, so I'll go and you stay here." Said Kathleen.
"Fine." Replied Kent.
Kathleen sat up and walked out of their tent and headed to the main building where Arthur was staying. Meanwhile, Kent got up and began to change his clothes. And when he was done, he sat back down on his cot and waited for Kathleen to return.
Kathleen opened the door to the main building, and stepped inside. And immediately, she spotted Arthur in the kitchen area, eating an apple, she had then walked over to him.
"Hey, Arthur." Said Kathleen
"Morning. What can I do for you?" Asked Arthur.
"Well, Kent and I were wondering if there was anything you or the community needed help doing?" Asked Kathleen.
"Well. Lately we've been running low on food, maybe you two could go out and hunt? It would really help us." Suggested Arthur.
"Oh, for sure." Replied Kathleen.
"Glad to hear that, thanks for pitching in." Said Arthur.
"No problem." Replied Kathleen.
Kathleen turned around and waved goodbye to Arthur as she walked out. She then met back up with Kent at their tent.
"Looks like we're going hunting." Said Kathleen.
"Alright. Doesn't seem too difficult." Said Kent.
"Yeah. Well, I'm going to get ready. You can meet me outside when you have your gear." Said Kathleen.
"Got it." Replied Kent.
Kent got up and reached into a duffel bag next to his cot. He pulled out a sniper rifle with a suppressor attached, and also grabbed some magazines. Kent then walked out of the tent and out the gates, and leaned against the wooden walls of the fences, waiting for Kathleen.
As he rested against the fence wall, he began to think about all the things that've happened to him in the past weeks. The ambush with Micheal, Victor being a spy, the siege on The Shadow's base camp.
"Is there a purpose for all this?" Wondered Kent.
As he was pondering about the purpose of the recent events, Kathleen walked out the front gates.
