Chapter 3

Next day everyone got ready and started their journey to sita's maternal place to attend the puja held in memorial of her late father . Sita and Urmila are siblings. Their families are extremely close and they decided to get their children married. 

Kausalya , dasarath , lakshman and urmila are travelling in one car whereas Ram , sita and bharath are travelling in another car. As they reached sita's maternal place ,  kausalya got down hurriedly and rushed inside.  She hugged sunaina ( sita and urmila's mother ) and smiled cheerfully. 

Sunaina : kausalya ! It's been a long time since we met. Namasthey dasarath bhaiyya !

Dasarath : namasthey Sunaina ! How's your health ?

Sunaina : I'm perfectly fine bhaiyya !

Kausalya : what ? Look at your self ! How pale you are ? Is it necessary for you to stay alone at this age ?

Sunaina : you are always like this Kausalya. 

Sita : Amma ! 

Sunaina : sita !

Urmila : amma !

Sita and Urmila hugged their mother. Ram , Lakshman and Bharath also wished her and asked her about her well-being. After talking for a while , everyone departed to their rooms for taking some rest. After a while  sita went to her mother's room. Sunaina was reading a book. She looked up as sita entered into her room. 

Sunaina : sita ! Come dear ! 

Sita went and sat beside her mother. She placed her head in her mother's lap.

Sunaina : what happened kanna ?

Sita didn't speak anything. Sunaina noticed that she is crying.

Sunaina : sita ! Tell me what happened ?

Sita : maa ! You know about that forest right ? There... the people who are going there are missing or they are being found dead at the entrance of the forest. 1 week back there was a meeting regarding that in the village. Dasarath papa told that one person must go there and give the actual reason behind the happenings if it repeats again. He told that the person must go inside by recording everything and the people will watch everything on live at the village head office. No one came forward but Ram.

( sita started crying )

Sunaina hugged sita tightly.

Sunaina : nothing happens to your Ram. He will always stay with you. Don't overthink. 

Sita : but maa ! If he goes even i will also go along with him. I won't allow him to go alone.

Sunaina composed herself and told.

Sunaina : if you want you can go with him. Who is stopping you ? 

Then Sunaina saw Ram who just came there.

Sunaina : Ram ! Come here ! 

Ram :  what is she complaining about me ?

Ram asked by smiling. Sita slapped his arm hardly. She started throwing everything that she found at him.  Sunaina sighed. 

Ram : hey ! What's wrong with you ?

Sita : get the hell out of here you idiot ! 

Ram : really ! Are you asking me to go away ? Fine ! I didn't come for you. I came for my aunt. 

Ram sat on the other side of the bed beside sunaina and kept his head on her shoulder. Sunaina patted his head with affection and smiled.

Sita : amma ! You can't be one both sides. 

Sunaina : stupid girl ! Ram and Sita are  always one. I'm one SitaRam's side.

Sita looked at Ram who is trying to irritate her. She slapped his head. 

Ram : see ! How your daughter is behaving ! She is such a feisty lady. 

Urmila : amma ! I'm hungry.

Bharath : even me ! 

Urmila and bharath came there along with lakshman who is engrossed in his mobile.

Sunaina : come children ! Have some food. I made halwa for all of you. 

Sunaina walked towards the kitchen and they went along with her. She served halwa ( an Indian desert ) to everyone. 

Urmila : it's so delicious amma ! 

They went into the backyard and sat there. They are talking about random things. Then suddenly they heard a woman's scream. Sunaina walked towards the compound wall.

Sunaina : subbamma ! What happened ? 

Subamma : Shanti is getting labor pains.

Sita stood up and walked towards shanti's house. Sita is a doctor by profession. She works in the hospital at their village. She went to shanti's house and walked towards her.

Shanti : amma ! Aaaaaa ! Sita ! ... pain . It's pain..ing.

Sita : calm down shanti ! Relax. I'll take care. Push the baby.

With sita's assistance shanti delivered a baby girl. Sita held the baby in her hands. She is an exact carbon copy of shanti. 

Sita : your daughter is soo beautiful shanti ! 

Padmamma ( shanti's mother -in -law ) : hey ! You gave birth to a girl  ?

Padmamma who just came there by listening to the news came there. She lives few houses away from shanti's maternal house. Shanti looked visibly tensed.

Padmamma : any how ! She is my first grandchild. She is my mahalakshmi.

Padmamma snatched the baby from sita's hands.

Sita : i'll meet you again after sometime shanti.

Shanti : ok ! Thank you sita .

Sita smiled and went outside.

Padmamma : didn't you find anyone else ? You made that barren woman to do your labor !!

Sita heard those words but didn't bother as she heard the same words and taunts from many people .  But they don't know the actual reason about her not becoming a mother yet. People are assuming that she is barren. 

Urmila : shall we go to the river ? It's been a longtime since we went there. 

Sita : ok ! 

They all heard what padmamma told but they didn't speak about that. Ram felt guilty for the decision he took. But he is right in his own way. He took that decision for the sake of sita. In one month their bad faith will end.
