————————————————————————————————————————————————————————Celine's POV:
To be honest, I'm not sure how military girlfriends and wives do it. I was dating a hockey player and there were times where he'd be gone for a week and I wasn't sure how to handle it. There were a lot of tears, a lot of time spent in one of his hoodies, and way too much cheesecake consumed. I wish I could say I got used to it, but it never got any easier throughout the time we were together. It was late on a Thursday night when they got back from their Canada trip. Early Friday morning would be a better thing to say, I guess. He said he wanted me to pick him up when they landed. Even though he knew how much I hated waking up early. I had fallen asleep at nine but set an alarm for three in the morning so I'd be there on time. I had a problem with getting out of bed once I got comfortable and fell asleep. It wasn't the same without him though. Most days we got up at the same time to get to work but on the weekends I'd wake up at noon to him cooking. Jonah always laughed at my ability to sleep in. We had been living together for a few months now, even though my parents didn't want me to. Coming from the strong over protective background my family has, they didn't want me to live with Jonah when we weren't married. That may not have made my family happy, but I'm still their favorite daughter, granddaughter,
niece, cousin and all that . After putting a vest over one of Jonah's sweatshirts and throwing some baggy sweats and my uggs, I got into my car and turned the key. It was freezing outside. I turned the radio station and pulled out of the driveway. The driveway wasn't too long, but I was so tired it felt like it took hours. I had arrived a few minutes before their plane landed. I got out of the car and leaned on the door, waiting for my boyfriend to walk over and we could go home to the nice warm bed. I had started dozing off when I felt Jonah's soft lips on my forehead. "Hey babe." I lazily opened my eyes and smiled. I was glad to see him. Jonah wrapped his arms around me and it made these rough few days all worth it. He pulled away from me and smiled his half crooked smile. "I missed you." I said into his chest. He was so warm, I didn't want to leave his embrace. "I know I'm warm and all, but can you look at me for a minute?" I lifted my face off his chest and looked into his blue-greenish eyes. I'm sure I'm biased, but they were the prettiest eyes I've seen. "I wanted to wait until we went out to dinner tonight, I guess that's not happening. I've been in love with you for the longest time. I know it's going to be hard, but I know this is what I want. And hopefully what you want too." He grabbed something from his pocket and got down on one knee. "Will you marry me?" The ring he had bought was unreal. I understand he has the money to buy something like this, but I hope he didn't think I expected this from him. I would have settled for a ring pop, I just know I wanted to be with him. I was so tired that I didn't realize the rest of the team was still standing by their cars, waiting for my reaction. I couldn't help the tears from rolling down my cheeks, I was speechless. "I would love to spend the rest of my life with you, Gadj." He took my hand and placed the ring on my finger before kissing me. I could hear his teammates clap and shout at us. "Come on, babe. Let's go home." He lead me over to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for me. When we got back to the house, he carried me inside. We were both so tired, we crashed as soon as we hit the mattress. "I love you," Jonah mumbled before falling asleep. I'd be waking up to his face for the rest of my life and I couldn't wait.

Celine's POV:
Sometimes, I wondered why I had agreed to marry Jonah. There was never an ideal time for a hockey player to get married, it would have been during the season, or he'd be thinking about it during games. He said it would be fine, but I was still worried when he decided we'd have it in the summer, the year after we got engaged. Jonah told me he could handle it, we would just have it all planned after so he could concentrate on just hockey. We had a timeline that ended the day before the last regular season game so we took our time planning the small details. Picking out the colors, choosing the flowers, deciding on the wedding party. The easy stuff. We had over a year the figure everything out, so we weren't stressing. We didn't make it to the playoffs and the boys didn't seem to stand a chance against the Bruins, not winning a game in the series. Jonah took it pretty rough. The whole team did. It was a rough few days after the season ended. It worried me that he wouldn't be himself after this loss none of the team would have, and I wouldn't have the Jonah I've been with for so long when we got married in less than three weeks. It was a week before the wedding when he went out with some friends for dinner. I was pouring some milk in my cereal when the all too familiar back pains. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." I grabbed a spoon and went to the living room to watch a movie. It was nice being able to relax, not having to worry about the wedding or stress over hockey. I put my bowl in the sink and walked back to finish my movie. Apparently mother nature wanted to piss me off because next thing I knew, I was on the floor in a ball. I'm not sure if I was crying from the pain or if it was because I'd have my period on my wedding day. "Babe, I'm home." Jonah called out as he walked in the door. He had started to the bedroom before he heard my cries. "What's going on?" My fiancé sat down on the floor beside me and pulled me onto his lap. "It hurts so much and now our wedding night is ruined," I said between sobs, "I'm so sorry." "What?" He looked confused at what I had just choked out. "I'm starting my period soon and it'll probably last through our wedding. I just know that you've waited so long.." He cut me off before I could ramble any longer. "I've waited this long, I can wait another week. I don't mind it at all. You're worth the wait. Come on, let's get you something for the pain and we'll go to watch a movie in bed." He picked me up off the floor and carried me to the bed. I wanted to stay with him under the covers and never leave. But I had to get married in a few days. Being hormonal and getting married isn't a good combination. I started feeling like I wasn't good enough to be Mrs. Jonah Gadjovich. That I was just lucky to be with him. My sister tried settling me down before I put my makeup on, but he wasn't very successful.
They closed the door to the room and had Jonah sit outside and talk to me. He was the only person that would be able to help. I had to finish my makeup and put on the dress soon, but I just wanted to listen to him sing through the door. Pictures were a hassle. I've never liked them but did at the same time it's a love hate relationship. In fact, Jonah was around the same way but I'm sure there will be cameras around. It was almost time to walk down the aisle and all the nerves hit me at once. I was shaking up until the minute I saw Jonah standing up there. Every girl walks down the aisle, hoping for a dramatic reaction from their groom. The look I got from Jonah made my eyes start to tear up. I always thought our first kiss as a married couple would be short and sweet. He always liked to get to the point with whatever he did. That wasn't the case this time. He took his time with this, tracing my bottom lip with his tongue soon licking at the insides of my mouth. "Jonah," I moaned into his mouth. He finally pulled away and smiled. He started down the aisle with me beside him, almost running. "You're finally Mrs. Gadjovich," he smiled, rubbing his thumb on my cheek bone once we got outside the church. He was so happy, I never wanted to let this moment go.

——————-Celine's POV:
The easiest part of wedding planning was the first dance. I had never mentioned anything about which song I would pick, but I still had a few choices. Whenever I would be cooking breakfast the mornings before he got back from practice, he would grab me from the stove and start dancing. He'd sing to me quietly, "it's warm and real and bright And the world has somehow shifted All at once, everything is differentNow that I see you." He made sure this time wasn't any different. When the time came I shoved cake in Jonah's face. He may be one of the best hockey players I know but , that doesn't mean I'm going to treat him any differently. He ended up smearing icing on my face but I didn't make it a big deal.
I knew that when I woke up the next day, I would be Mrs. Gadjovich, but it still didn't feel real to me. I sat down for a minute, just taking everything in. Every one was out there dancing and Jonah was out there talking with a few teammates. With the way he blushed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was about later that night. He made his way back to his seat and took my hand. "How are you?" "I just married the love of my life so I think I'm doing alright." I still had a big, goofy smile on my face. I know it's going to be hard, just like it had been in the past. I just didn't care. Everything would be worth it in the end. "I don't mean to bother you, but Harlow wanted to dance with the beautiful bride." Melinda came over with her daughter. "Of course I want to dance with you, sweetie!" I kissed Jonah on the cheek before walking around the table and picking the little girl up. I understood that with hockey, I might not have children until I'm older, which I'm fine with. That doesn't mean I'm not going to have baby fever until we decide to start trying. "Time for dollar dances." The DJ announced. I brought Harlow back to Melinda and Steven grabbed me before anyone else could. We were both silent, just smiling before he said, "You make Gadj happy." "Gadj makes me really happy." "Uncle Ferrero Rocher?" "No I call you Ferrero Rocher, but I hope so. One day." He smiled, satisfied with what I had just told him. I'm sure he'd be getting on Jonah about that. I hugged him and started dancing with the next person.
The old person in me was glad I picked converse for the party. My feet still ached from wearing over the top heels for everything else. I didn't really go overboard with my shoes which didn't really surprise anyone. I was a simple girl until it came to shoes sometimes. I got a little time to sit down before they cleared the dance floor for the bouquet and garter tosses. I sat down on a chair in the middle of the room. All eyes were on me while Jonah slowly made his way towards me. He stuck his head under my dress, pressing kisses along the insides of my thighs. I started giggling, trying to hide my face from our families. He knew he would get that reaction from me and that's exactly why he did it. He had a smirk on his face once he had retrieved the garter.
Tossing the bouquet was a lot less awkward, but I think I made a few girls happy when I threw single roses instead of my actual bouquet. Then again, some of the guys might be upset because their girlfriend has the wrong idea. It was worth it though. We wouldn't leave for Whitby until two days later, so we just went back to our home. Jonah carried me in, just like you see in the movies. Only this was so much better. He brought me straight to the bedroom and set me down on my feet before helping me out of my dress.
He started kissing my neck and shoulders, whispering things into my ear, "I love you. So much. And I can't wait to show you."
