Ch 8: only once

Shadow woke up to a beautiful day in the Green Hill Zone. He stretched his arms and legs, feeling the warmth of the sun on his face. As he got up from his bed, he couldn't help but think of Sonic, the blue hedgehog .He had always admired Sonic's speed, his bravery, and his kind heart. But he couldn't let Sonic know how he felt, so he always acted like he hated him.

As Shadow was getting dressed, he heard a knock on his door. He opened it to find Sonic standing outside, a big grin on his face.

"Hey, Shadow! You up for hanging out today?" Sonic asked.

Shadow's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe that Sonic was standing in front of him, wanting to spend time with him. He hesitated for a moment, but then nodded.

"Yeah, sure. Let's go to the park," Shadow said, trying to sound nonchalant.

As they walked through the park, Shadow couldn't help but notice Sonic's eyes wandering to his chest fluff. He rolled his eyes, but then turned to Sonic and said, "You can touch it once, if you want."

Sonic's face lit up and he reached out to touch Shadow's chest fluff. It was soft and fluffy, and Sonic couldn't resist petting it some more.

As they continued walking, they talked about their latest adventures and shared some laughs. Shadow felt like he could be himself around Sonic, and that made him feel happy.

After a while, they decided to take a break and sit down on a bench. Sonic pulled out some chili dogs from his backpack and offered one to Shadow.

"No thanks," shadow said politely,  "I had breakfast."

Sonic shrugged."More for me then."

Shadow felt a warm feeling spread through his chest at seeing sonic enjoy his favorite food,and he knew that he was falling even more in love with Sonic.

As he finished his meal, Sonic turned to Shadow and said, "Hey, Shadow. I know we've always had this rivalry going on, but I want you to know that I really like you. You're brave, strong, and you always stand up for what's right. I admire that about you."

Shadow felt his face heat up. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Sonic, his longtime crush, was actually complimenting him.

"Thanks, Sonic," Shadow said, trying to sound cool. "I think you're pretty amazing too."

Sonic grinned. "Really? That's great to hear. You know, I've always wanted to get to know you better, Shadow. You're such an interesting guy."

Shadow felt his heart flutter. He couldn't believe that Sonic was actually interested in him. He leaned in a little closer to Sonic, feeling brave.

"I've always wanted to get to know you better too, Sonic," Shadow said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Sonic turned to look at Shadow, his eyes shining with excitement. "Really? That's great! Maybe we could hang out more often?"

Shadow nodded, feeling his heart racing. "Yeah, I'd like that."

As they got up from the bench, Sonic took Shadow's hand in his. Shadow felt a jolt of electricity run through his body. He and sonic were going to get closer now,more than ever.
