What Becky said left a scar on me. My uncle-in-law is my father's murderer. How did that happen? If he is my aunt's husband there is a possibility that my aunt knows something. Yet, she didn't tell me. Now, how could I save my mother from her if she was with her?
I messed my hair in frustration, causing Becky to slap my hands.
"I've been dyeing your hair and you keep on ruining it. Look at your hands!" she yelled at me and rolled her eyes.
Becky fetched a towelette and wiped my hands on it.
I forgot that today is the masquerade ball. The headmaster said it doesn't matter if we have dates or none, as long as we're there is fine.
"What dress are you going to wear?" I asked Becky when I saw her rack. It has various types of dress and most of them were revealing. I couldn't bare seeing those men drool over her. I should buy her long pants and blazers.
"That strappy backless." She pointed to the floor-length black shiny dress, causing me to squint.
"No." I shook my head.
I stood up and looked for a gown that could fully cover her skin, but I couldn't find one. All of them were see-through, backless, and had high slits.
Becky hugged me from behind and giggled when she realized I was mad because of her dresses.
"Why? You don't want to see me wearing those?" She pouted.
I glared at her and removed her hands from me to face her.
"I want to see you wear those, but alone. Most men will drool over you if they see you wearing these kinds of dresses." I scolded her. "Find something that is less revealing."
Becky nodded and called someone on the phone. After a few minutes, someone knocked on our door to deliver the dress.
I saw a black fitted off-shoulder dress that had also high slits.
"Rebecca!" I shouted.
Becky sprinted towards me and pressed her lips on mine. The delivery guy was shocked and looked at both of us. Becky smirked and wiped my lips. She then turned to the guy and pay him more than the price of the dress.
"Keep the change, and keep your mouth shut." She waved seductively to the guy and he nodded as his body trembled.
Becky closed the door and heaved a sigh before turning to me. "Why didn't you tell me that he's still here?"
I laughed at her as her face reddened. Who the hell told her to kiss me just because I shouted her name?

Everyone looked fabulous while walking on the red carpet together with their partners. Becky and I decided to walk alone since many eyes were watching us and even though Becky was wearing a mask they could still recognize her.
She looked so elegant in her black off-shoulder fitted dress covered in shining sequins.
I smiled at her and she rolled her eyes because she couldn't wear the backless gown she wanted.
"Don't be mad. I'll take that off later," I whispered seductively in her ears.
Becky widened her eyes and playfully punched me on the shoulder.
The dance started and everyone was so excited about it. Men asked Becky to dance and she politely rejected them, but she couldn't say no to Non.
I motioned to go and I would just stay here at the table until the song finished.
While I was waiting, I saw a familiar silhouette pacing back and forth. When he saw the headmaster, he quickly leave the dancefloor and followed her.
I saw that guy somewhere and if I'm not mistaken, he's one of the guards of Armstrongs. What is he doing here and why is he following the headmaster?
Although I promised to stay, I couldn't just leave them alone. I sneakily followed them and stopped when they also stopped near the office.
"I need to know what is his mask," the man said in a stern voice.
"I'm protecting my students. Why do you want to know his mask?" the headmaster asked.
"He almost killed my niece. What do you want me to do? Let him live?"
The question made my body tremble. Niece? He's Becky's uncle. And who is he referring to that almost killed Becky?
Damn, it. It's Argus!
I quickly returned to the dancefloor to look for Argus but I didn't know what mask he was wearing. I know he should be punished but not this way. I have a terrible feeling that Becky's uncle is going to kill him.
"Freen, I was looking for you. Where did you go?" she asked.
"I need to find Argus, he's in danger."
"Who the hell is Argus?" she asked confused.
Before I could tell her who was he, the lights went out. Everyone panicked and went out of the venue. Non grabbed our hands and pulled us outside. We went to the library but it was locked. Non snatched Becky's hairpin and picked the lock.
"Let's go," he said and motioned us to follow.
"What are we doing here, Non?" Becky asked.
It is the room nearest the venue of the ball and from the window, we can see the shadows of the people running outside the place.
"Heng told me to keep you safe. Someone came and looked for a guy. I didn't know who, but–"
Before Non could finish his sentence a loud bang echoed in the area, causing all of us to cover our ears. My body trembled and all the memories flashed in my mind.
The night my father died in front of me. The gunshots when I was trying to save Becky. I didn't know where to look so I just closed my eyes.
Hot tears fell and I felt a pair of arms surrounding me opened my eyes to see Becky looking worriedly at me.
"I'm here, Freen. Don't be afraid. I'll protect you, tonight."
