On the second day of the week and everyone must participate in the competition called 'Craft Workshop.' T.S. wanted it to be a science fair, so we must create a device in the gymnasium that can be used inside our room.
The competition is per room, and I am paired with Becky. I don't have a choice, and Becky is a genius. She wants us to make something that doesn't need a battery and can be utilized with a simple light, but that isn't necessary for our dorm. We need a television or a projector since I have wanted to watch a movie with her ever since. She's always reading a book, and I don't know if she still knows the faces of celebrities nowadays.
"What do we need again?" she asked and looked at the list. She scratched her head and turned to me, annoyed.
Rectangular cardboard box
Magnifying glass
Thick black matte paper (alternatively, brush and paint)
Tape, regular or double-sided (can be substituted with glue)
Exacto knife or precision cutter (or scissors)
Mirror
Protractor (optional but helpful)
Ruler
Pencil
SmartphoneBecky took a picture of the list and sent it to someone. I think she ordered someone to buy all of them. She's lazy when it comes to this. She doesn't like to put effort into something she won't benefit from.
"What are you looking at?" she asked me.
I shook my head and focused on the card box I was cutting. Since this morning, she was on a bad mood. I cooked for her, but she didn't eat it. That was the first time she rejected my offer.
"What are you two doing?" The girl in room 103 came to our table, carrying the device she had made. It looked like a smartwatch. "Projector? Cheap." she chuckled.
"What's yours? Trash? Gross." Becky smirked and looked at her from head to toe.
"It is a smartwatch that doesn't need to be charged. You only need a solar light to make it work," she explained.
Becky turned to me. "Did you ask for that info?" she asked me, making me shake my head. Becky heaved a sigh and looked at the girl again.
"Do you need something? Or are you here to show off that watch of yours? Because I can buy more than that," Becky mentioned. "Do you see my girl there? She's making something precious for me. So, don't you dare tell me what it can do because my girl here can make your face explode."
I chuckled at her and shook my head. What did she eat, and she becomes like this? She's out of control.
The girl rolled her eyes and turned her back. Becky waved goodbye and raised her middle finger when the girl turned around. I reached for her hand and motioned her to keep it for herself.
"Why are you stopping me?" she asked irritably.
"You're beyond the limits," I scolded her. "How can I make her face explode? Tell me."
Becky looked away, and her face suddenly brightened when she saw her guard carrying the needed materials.
I was right. She asked someone to buy it all instead of using recycled materials. What a brat.
"How much?" she asked.
Her guard whispered to her, and she nodded. She took out her wallet and gave him the black card. I looked at her in disbelief.
How can she let her bodyguard hold her money? Especially a black card. She trusts him that much?
When the guard walked away, I went in her direction while she was arranging the materials.
"How can you be sure he will return your card to you?" I asked.
Becky chuckled and patted my head. "He'll die if he didn't."
How can she say that easily? As time passes, Becky is doing something I can't fathom anymore. She's changing. She's no longer the innocent and clingy girl from our first meeting in IdR.
Hours passed before we finally finished our product. The headmaster checked them individually, and she was impressed with what we did. Though, I know she only complimented it because of Becky.
We won third place, and T.S. asked us to return to our dorm and use the thing we did.
Becky and I immediately went back to watch a movie, and she was the one who picked what movie we would be watching.
We set up the projector and phone, then put our beds together, so we could watch while cuddling.
Becky lay down, and I wrapped my arms around her for her to be more comfortable. She hugged me tightly and closed her eyes. I thought we were going to watch a movie.
"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked with a chuckle.
"I can't sleep these past few days because you don't sleep with me. Let me sleep now," she said and buried her face in my chest.
I shook my head and caressed her hair to make her sleep faster. I think she has a bad day. Last night, I slept in her bed, but she didn't hug me. I also didn't know if she slept since I was the first to fall asleep.
"Please, no." Becky started crying in her sleep, so I immediately woke her up. She opened her eyes and hugged me tight.
She's having a nightmare again. I don't know when it started. I don't know anything about it. She didn't tell me, maybe because she was afraid or not ready yet.
"I'm here, don't worry." I rubbed her back, and she nodded her head.
I know one thing that could calm her–my voice saying sweet things. It's effective all the time.
"I read a book today, and you know what it says?" I asked her. I felt her shake her head.
Honestly, I didn't have time to read today, but I need to lie. I don't want to tell her that the things that will come from my mouth are from my heart.
I made her face me and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"If love is a song, it would have your voice, and if love is a question, you'd be the only choice."
Disclaimer: I saw the last line on TikTok. It's a beautiful poem, but I didn't know who was she since it was reposted. Once I see her again, I'll share the link. Her poems are so (I don't know the right word, but it's more than beautiful.)
