Y/n was, frankly, a bit lost.
She initially planned on going back to her TARDIS, but decided she shouldn't go back inside yet, so she ended up wandering around. The families around were safe to leave their bunkers just moments before; a few folks waved at Y/n or gave her a small nod as she walked past. She went by a man who she was pretty sure was the bartender from earlier on, smiling back when he said hello.
Eventually, a bit sick of wandering, she looked up to the building Jack had parked his ship outside and started heading over. There was no guarantee he was there, but she had the keys so she figured it didn't matter. She walked over and stood beneath where she knew it was and fiddled with her bracelet. A gentleman walked past her into the building, giving her an unreasonably smug smile. She wasn't sure why exactly he did, but she figured it gave her the funny opportunity to press down one one of the charms on her bracelet and vanish from sight. From up in the ship, she she his shocked face as he rushed in through the doors. Jack always told her to enjoy the little things, and scaring the wits out of some random man she'd never see again was a little thing she found very enjoyable.
Jack wasn't in there so she decided to lay back on his bed and grabbed her phone from her purse; she didn't really have much on it entertainment-wise, but solitaire never let her down before. She laid there for what felt like maybe 45 minutes (though honestly was more around 2 hours) moving black cards onto red cards and vice versa. She wasn't even really good at solitaire either. Honestly she only liked playing because the sound effect of the cards being moved around, and slowly starting picking up what to do after that.
Finally, Jack came back in—teleporting directly into his seat. He didn't notice Y/n right away, speaking to someone through the comms. "Used the emergency teleport. Sorry I couldn't take you," he said, sounding mostly genuine, "It's security-keyed to my molecular structure."
"And mine!" Y/n chimed in, scaring the daylights out of Jack. He spun around in his chair and just stared at her for a moment, hand to his chest as though he was holding his heart from popping out. She just smiled innocently and waved, rolling onto her stomach. "So, how much did I miss? Are you talking to the Doctor?"
"I'll tell you in a minute. I'm working on getting you two out of there."
"Hold on," Y/n heard the Doctor pause through the comms, "How're you speaking to us?"
"Om-com. I can tap into just about anything with a speaker grill."
"Now there's a coincidence," the Doctor mumbled, mostly to himself. Jack asked what he meant. "The child can om-com too. Even managed to call the TARDIS phone."
Jack turned to Y/n a bit confused, not fully listening to what the Doctor and Rose were saying on the other side. "TARDIS?" he asked, tilting his head a bit. His brows were furrowed and he looked a bit concerned. He knew about Y/n's past and he knew how it affected her so devastatingly. He knew where there's a TARDIS there was most likely a Time Lord, but reasonably thought they were all dead. It was a shock to him and therefore must have been a bigger shock to her. In all honesty, he was ready to just fly them both away and leave the Doctor and Rose there.
But... she didn't seem surprised. She looked as though she already knew about the Time Lord. "I'll explain later," she said, more nonchalant than Jack would have guessed. She looked a bit tense still, but he was expecting a breakdown. It wouldn't be an uncommon reaction. "It's a bit of your future and a moment of my recent past."
He couldn't do anything except trust her on this. "Alright. Let me know if we need to leave, though. They're not even Time Agents," he said, trying to lighten the mood a bit with the last sentence. Y/n just smiled at him knowingly. She would've made some small quip back, but was interrupted by the child again. "Doctor, do you hear that?"
