*Hailey’s POV*

I’ve been at Emily’s for 3 days now, and tomorrow I’d go collect my things from Louis’. Maybe I’d leave tomorrow and go looking for a flat for myself. I wasn’t sure, I didn’t want to think about it right now.

Being temporarily crippled was… interesting.

Showers were a whole different story. I had to sit down, and have a plastic bag placed over my cast. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. So here I was now sitting in the shower, practicing what small talk would happen if I ran into Louis when I went to get my things.

“Short and sweet,” I kept saying in my mind.

After the shower I decided to call Harry in case my house hunting plan failed. Me and Harry had been good friends ever since Louis and I had met. I was close to the other boys to but me and Harry were better friends. I was sure he’d let me stay for a bit if I couldn’t find a house. I didn’t want to stay at Emily’s because she had started a new semester at university, so with me being around she’d feel the need to help out with my leg and all. Harry’s house would just be a pit stop, I told myself.

I scrolled through my contacts before hitting on Harry’s contact. The phone started ringing, and I placed it close to my ear. After 4 rings I heard a husky “Hello?” from the other end.

“Hi Harry!” I exclaimed in the bottom of my phone.

“Hi Hailey, what’s up?”

“I just have a quick question….” I trailed off.

“Yeah?”

“I was just wondering if I could stay with you for a few nights until I find a home. I would stay with Emily but she’s going to Uni and all…. You don’t have to say yes,”

There was only a short pause, before Harry whispered into the phone, “That’s fine Hailey, but Lou’s here right now. I think he’s packing actually to go back to your- I mean his, flat, so come tomorrow yeah?”

I pretended to act unaffected by the fact Louis had the same idea as I did. I over cheerfully replied with a “yeah” and “thanks so much” before saying a quick goodbye and hanging up. I had to start packing the small amount of things I had, if I was going to leave tomorrow.

*Louis’ POV*

I was rushing around the messy room trying to get all of the clothes off of the floor. I had a tendency to not clean up after myself, even in a temporary home of almost a week.

“Hey Harry!” I called out, digging out some clothes from under the bed.

"I’m going to leave tomorrow man, thanks for letting me stay!” I said just as loudly as before.

“Oh, I thought you were just cleaning,” I heard him say sarcastically from behind me.

I jumped realizing how close he was, when I thought he was downstairs.

He was leaning against the doorway with that cheeky grin plastered across his face.

I picked up a dirty white T-shirt and threw it at his face, “Help, will ya?”

He came into the room and began folding clothes from the pile of clothes I had collected .

“So, uh… what time you leaving?” He said slowly.

“I don’t know, maybe noon, afternoon? I don’t know,”

“Oh uh, okay, just let me know when you decide on a proper departure time,” He said grinning.

“Want me out of the house, do ya? Well maybe I’ll stay for another week,” I said jokingly.

“But Lou! how could you? I’ve already packed all of your clothing!” He said mock gasping.

We continued finding and folding until I could stick it all into a duffle bag. Tomorrow was finally the day I leave. It was only a few days, but they felt long to me. I would go home where everything Hailey owned would be, or where it would be gone. I had no idea if she already got her stuff. But where would she live? Emily’s maybe, but Emily had school, of course I didn’t want to leave Hailey ‘homeless’ until she found a flat.

“Hey Harry, do you know where Hailey’s going to be staying? Before she finds her own flat?”

No response.

“Harry?” I said louder. He looked up at me, he paused before speaking.

“Oh uh, no. I’m not sure, don’t know,”
