*Hailey’s POV*

My old flat was cold. That was the only way to describe it. The heat hadn’t been on it seemed since the breakup. I knew Louis had gone straight to Harry’s. The lights were all off, the rooms frozen and empty. In the kitchen there was my elastic I had left there before we went out for dinner. I looked around again, and let out a breath I didn’t realize I had been holding in. I picked up my empty bag and hobbled up the stairs where most of my belongings were. I fished my suitcase out of the hall closet, across from our old bedroom. The door to the bedroom was closed completely. I was afraid it would be locked from the inside so I couldn’t get my stuff; but I knew that wasn’t possible unless Lou had climbed out from the window.

I opened the door and was immediately hit with a wave a heat. It had to be at least 20 degrees warmer in the room. I looked around and found the source of the heat; the little heater corner plugged in to the wall. It must have been on all this time. Of course he hadn’t turned it off.

I groaned and unplugged the heater. Then I went to my closet to get my clothes out. I folded each piece of clothing before putting it in one of my suitcases. I could feel sweat collecting at the back of my neck as I worked. I quickly pulled my hair into a high ponytail, but was not successful in cooling myself down. I went over to the window to open it a bit and cool down the room. Before I could, something below the windowsill caught my eye. I picked it up to see it was a pair of fishnet stockings. I quickly threw it back on the ground in disgust realizing whose they were.

Hers.

Whoever she was. The one who caused this mess.

I pushed the thoughts out of my head and opened the window. I let the cool breeze relax me before heading off to work again.

But I couldn’t stop thinking of the stockings.

(AFTER PACKING)

I decided just to sleep at Lou’s flat knowing Louis wasn’t leaving Harry’s until tomorrow. I fell asleep quickly, exhausted from packing. My slight immobility didn’t help. I still hadn’t packed everything completely, but was too tired to get anything else. The next morning I made myself a light breakfast and packed my things into the back of my car. I got to Harry’s quickly, calling before going inside to make sure Lou had left.

“Not yet, wait outside for a few minutes. He’s just leaving now,” he had said in a raspy voice. He had obviously woken up not long ago, most likely from Louis waking him up. I just sat in my car waiting for Lou’s departure.

*Louis’ POV*

I was all set and ready to leave, only stopping to eat some breakfast. Harry was across from me sipping tea as I ate some pancakes.

“Something wrong Haz? Been awfully quiet.” I noted, chewing a mouthful of pancakes.

“Well..” He sighed. “I might of lied last night,”

“How so?”

“I know where Hailey’s staying next..” He trailed off, eyes on his cup.

“Where?” I said, my gaze fixed on him.

“Here.” He said quickly.

I pretended not to be affected by this. My recent ex now living temporarily with my best friend. How long was she going to be here? Had she moved on quickly enough to take interest in Harry?

“S’alright mate, I know she’s got to stay somewhere.”

I put my plate in the sink, and turned to face Harry.

“Just, don’t.. don’t do anything alright mate?” I said.

“I would never Lou.”
