Chapter 1

I couldn't stop coughing. It never stopped. Whatever they did to me completely ruined me.

I can't stop shaking as I see myself cough up blood tears streaming down my face.

"What happened, why is she acting like this?!"

One of the experimenters glared at another.

"I don't think she can handle the shots we gave her."

Then the experimenter turned his attention towards me and glared at me.

He began to walk towards me.

Once he approached me he slapped me across the face.

"You should've been able to handle the shots!"

He shouted at me but I didn't respond.

"You're completely useless!"

He then walked off.

I glared at his back then began coughing again.

I have to get out of here.

As night approached and everyone left I decided I would sneak out. It would be hard because of their high security, but I could manage.

Once I knew for sure that everyone was gone I got out of my room. They never lock the door because they figured I can't escape.

I slowly made my way past all the security until I got to a giant door.

There was a password that I had to put in to unlock it.

I remembered one of them mentioning some numbers before, maybe that's what the password is.

3,2,8,7,4,6,1,5... My hand trembled as I slowly put in the numbers. If I get this wrong the alarm will sound and they will show up.

Once I finished putting all the numbers in I closed my eyes in case the alarm goes off, but it never did.

I slowly opened my eyes to see the door opening.

I smiled widely.

I smiled the first time in a long time.

I'm finally free.

I ran out of the lab fresh air filled my nostrils for the first time.

The cool night air hit my face as I ran.

I kept running, I never stopped until I reached a city.

When I got to the gates I saw two security guards or were they knights? Doesn't matter they were standing at the front gates.

"Mondsadt welcomes you."

They say in unison.

I simply waved and continued inside the city.

The streets were dark no one was hardly around.

I wandered until I came across a tavern. I went inside to see quite a few people inside.

I sat at one of the stools and a tall male who looked around my age with fiery red hair and eyes looked towards me. He wore a stoic expression on his face, he actually looked really good looking.

"What can I get you?"

His deep voice rang in the tavern.

"Um.. what do you have?"

He gave me a deadpan expression and a tall blue haired guy stared at me with confusion.

I blushed in embarrassment as they were both staring at me.
