Chapter 9

You might have been enjoying your time back in Liyue, but now that you were gone things were different back in Mondstadt. And not just your friend's mood change.

The tavern door busted open revealing tall men holding swords, claymores, polearms, and bows, and behind them were a whole bunch of lab experimenters.

Diluc looked up to see the men glaring at him.

"So are you guys gonna get something to drink or what?"

"Where is Y/N?"

One of the experimenters asked.

Diluc didn't answer and went back to cleaning a glass.

One of the tall men walked over to the counter, leaned across it and grabbed Diluc by the neck. Diluc dropped the glass he was holding.

"He asked where is Y/N."

Diluc grabbed the man's arm and pushed him away.

"Like I'd ever tell you."

All of the tall men began to draw there weapons.

"Tell us, or you die."

Kaeya, Lisa, and Rosaria all turned around to look at the men, and looked at the experimenters who were standing behind them.

"I'm gonna have to pass. Dying wasn't on my schedule today."

The men continued to glare at him, they were ready to attack him.

"Tell us what we want to know."

One of the experimenters that Diluc saw in the past spoke up.

All he did was throw up his middle finger towards them.

The tall men fed up with him began to attack him, running his way.

Diluc ducked behind the counter then got up and kicked one of them.

By this time, customers began to run out of the tavern screaming and saying call for help.

Kaeya, Lisa, and Rosaria stood up from there seats readying themselves to also attack.

Diluc drew his claymore, and began to attack the men.

Several glasses fell and broke as they fought.

As for the others, they turned their attention to the experimenters who were glaring at them.

"This had better stop right now, or we'll kill you."

"Oh, you've got it all wrong. We're not fighting you, but they are."

More men entered the tavern.

They ran towards the three and began to attack them.

Kaeya drew his sword, Rosaria drew her polearm, and Lisa readied her electro catalyst.

"I was not expecting to fight on my trip to the tavern."

Kaeya said attacking one of the men.

"No kidding."

The others said in unison.

Weapons were flying all over the tavern, things breaking in the process.

Behind the bar Diluc was fighting the men. He swung his claymore at one of the men sending him flying out of the tavern, breaking the door in the process. The man then disintegrated into ash.

One of the men attacked Diluc with his sword, with a swift move Diluc dodged his attack, but the sword hit the counter causing wood pieces of the counter to break. Diluc then kicked the man, and used his claymore to kill him.

Meanwhile with the others, Kaeya was fighting one of the men. The man swung his sword at Kaeya, while Kaeya held up his sword in defense. The two weapons colliding together. Kaeya then tripped the man, and fired frost towards the man, killing him in the process.

Rosaria twirled her polearm around then attacked the man. He fell to the ground with a thud. She then pierced her polearm into his throat killing him instantly.

Lisa fired electro lightning at one of the men, he dodged her attack then used his polearm and hit her across her back. She stumbled, but quickly recovered. "Now that wasn't very nice." She used her ultimate attack and killed the man.

While they were all distracted with their battles, one of the experimenters crept towards Diluc without any of them noticing.

The experimenter then kicked Diluc from behind, it didn't hurt him at all, but it made him drop his weapon, catching him off his guard as well. Then one of the tall men quickly grabbed both of Diluc's arms to restrain him.

Another one of the men that had an electro fueled bow shot it at Diluc, weakening him a bit.

"Tell us what we want to know, or you die. I don't want to tell you again."

Another one of the men that was holding a claymore pointed it at Diluc.

"Then you're gonna have to kill me, because I'm not telling you anything."

The man with the claymore lifted up his weapon to kill him, but Diluc jumped up and kicked him, using the extra weight from the other man as support. He then flipped the other man over, when fell so did the experimenter. The man fell on his back onto him.

With Diluc out of his restraints he grabbed his claymore, and killed the two taller males and the experimenter. Their blood oozing out of their bodies onto the hardwood floor.

Diluc looked down at the three dead men panting a bit. As they then turned to ash.

He turned to the others who killed all the men, and the other experimenters staring at them wide eyed.

"So, do you guys want to be next."

Diluc asked looking at them threatningly. His voice lacing with anger and menace.

The men cowered at his gaze, then quickly turned and ran away.

Once they were gone Diluc dropped his weapon and looked around the tavern.

There were broken tables, a broken door, blood splatters all over the floor and wall, and blood stained weapons.

It was an absolute disaster in there.

"Great, now I have to clean all this up. And buy new stuff."

Diluc pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance.

"Well, you guys might as well go."

But instead of going they started picking up leftover debris from the fight.

"As much as I would love to go home right now, there's no way I'm leaving you to clean all this up by yourself."

Kaeya said grabbing pieces of the bar counter.

The other two nodded in agreement.

"Oh, thanks..."

They all quietly started cleaning up the tavern.

While cleaning a thought dawned on Diluc's mind.

What if they don't stop there? They already attacked the tavern so what if they continue and attack the city?

The thought unsettled Diluc but he ignored his feeling and got back to work.

But what Diluc didn't realize is that he was right. It's only gonna get worse from here.

And everything might seem fine now, but her condition is going to get worse as well.
