Day 4 - Off

The annoying sound of somebody pounding on our door woke me from my slumber. I threw one of my extra pillows at James, who groaned in response.

"James, get the door." I mumbled.

"Sorry, I'm sleeping, I can't hear you." He grumbled into his pillow before tugging the covers over his head.

With a roll of my eyes and a deep sigh, I threw the covers off me and got up. Whoever was at our door better have a damn good reason for waking me up so early.

I shuffled to the door and unlocked it, squinting at the sudden brightness as I opened the door. Dan, from Real Friends, was standing there, his eyes widening slightly when he saw me.

"Why are you here so early?" I asked, rubbing my tired eyes.

He cleared his throat. "Um, it's 1 in the afternoon. You're not wearing pants." He pointed out.

Sure enough, when I looked down, I was bare legged. I quickly hid half my body behind the door, giving him a awkward smile.

"Sorry. Is it really 1 already?" I was asking more myself than him.

Dan nodded. "Anyway! A few of us are heading to the beach and were wondering if you wanted to come with?"

I looked back at James before turning my attention towards Dan. "Yeah, just give me a minuet."

"We'll be in the lobby so just come down when you're ready." He told me, I nodded and shut the door.

James was still peacefully asleep, soft snores coming from him. I chuckled and walked over to my suitcase, pulling out shorts and a loose shirt. Skipping the bikini because I didn't plan on going in the water again. The only one in my band that wanted to come with was Will, the others wanted to spend the day sleeping or whatever. Will and I walked down to the lobby and this time it was a much smaller group, John, Pat, Dan, Troy, Brennan, Brian, and of course Will and I.

The weather was overcast and it honestly looked like it was about to rain so the beach was mostly empty. Some of the guys brought portable chairs, I couldn't believe I didn't think of doing that. I spread my towel out next to Will's and laid down, he was playing a sad game of football with a few of the guys. I was positive none of them knew what they were doing, they were just tossing the ball around and running. My eyes followed them as they ran around like toddlers, I was so focused that I didn't even hear somebody sit beside me.

"Hey!" Pat announced himself as he took a seat next to me, scaring me.

I jumped and screamed slightly. "Jesus Pat, you scared me!" I laughed.

He grinned and offered me a beer which I happily accepted.

"So I see you're not joining the guys in that sad excuse of a football game?" My eyes flickered towards the "game".

Pat shook his head and chuckled. "I rather watch them be idiots."

I nodded in agreement.

Pat and I talked about the show tomorrow and random things, turns out we had a lot in common. He was pretty quiet but once he relaxed around you he would joke around and just become a whole different person.

"You should definitely come hang out on our bus sometime!"

I quirked an eyebrow at him. "A bus full of messy guys? I've got my own bus of messy guys."
