Day 9 - Off
My eyes moved from my coffee cup to the grey clouds that covered the morning sky, we were all sat in a practically empty Waffle House. Well it was empty, our entire entourage filled the place. A early breakfast before getting on the road, we originally weren't due to leave till later in the day but after hearing about the upcoming storms we figured leaving sooner would be the safer option. I didn't mind though because this weather had me quite fatigued and I was due for a nap.
A yawn escaped me as I slouched into the uncomfortable wooden bench, propping myself up on Will's shoulder. He chuckled and patted my head.
"Bree, didn't you go to sleep early last night?" He asked.
I straightened up in my seat and nodded. "Yes but this dreary weather has me fatigued." I said as another yawn hit me.
I savored the flavor of the sweet waffles, no doubt that they were 100% bad for me. As I looked around the small diner, my eyes seemingly landed on John, who was laughing at something Jared had said. I always loved when he laughed because he always looked so carefree and he'd break out in a grin, which sent my heart into overdrive every time. As if knowing that I had my eyes set on him, his eyes flickered towards mine, shooting me a small smile; which only caused me to blush and look away. I mentally slapped myself, I was so awkward around him that it pained me. Be normal Bree!
I shook my head and looked down at my plate, deciding that it'd be better if I kept my eyes to myself. Waiting for everyone else to be done eating didn't take very long considering I was surrounded by boys who acted like they had never been fed before. I walked behind Tyler as we exited the building, everyone splitting ways to make it to their bus. Before I could make it to American Filter's bus, there was a tap on my shoulder.
"Oh! Hey Nico." I smiled as I turned around to see who had tapped me.
He shyly smiled. "Hey Bree, I was wondering if you were doing anything later?"
Nico and I had become pretty good friends so I never really thought anything of the both of us hanging out. Apparently John did though because before I could reply, I felt his arm snake around my waist.
"We're still down to hang out today, right B?" John asked casually, looking down at me.
I looked up at him with a confused expression before looking back at Nico who had a amused one, Nico held up his hands and backed away. "Maybe another time?" He winked before walking off.
What in the world just happened? I looked back to John to see him watching Nico. "Well that wasn't very nice." I stated.
His green eyes cast down on me, instantly flooding me with butterflies. "Hm? What are you talking about?" He acted as if he didn't know what he just did.
I crossed my arms across my chest. "A tad jealous are we now?" a smirk pulled at my lips.
John looked shocked. "What! No, of course not." He scoffed.
"Mhm, sure." I replied, obviously not buying his lie.
His arm remained snugly around my waist as he walked me to my bus. A loud crash of thunder rang through the sky, causing us both to look up at the increasingly dark sky. It looked as if Satan himself were about to cast down..
"Looks like this day off will have to spent inside." He mumbled, a frown appearing on his face.
I brought my hand up to smoothen out the wrinkles that appeared on his beautiful face. "Who's to say you can't have a good time inside?" I smiled.
