Paris the city of light, world renowned for its wide avenues, elegant buildings, lovely cafes and 'love is in the air' atmosphere is a muse to both national and international artists.
Under the spell of the night the city looked even more enchanting -like something straight out of the fairy tales books.
On such a night instead of standing at my balcony with a steaming cup of black coffee, organising my thoughts, gazing at the Cobalt Sky littered with tiny sparkles I'm stuck here.
Sitting in the lavish private room of 'La Gloire'
face to face with Hank White and his daughter Harrienette White.
Hank White is one of the shareholders who despises my way of running the company, he seems to have a huge problem with the business decisions that I make which by the way showcases nothing but honesty and proper business ethics.
He is one of those people who believes in pocketing every profit thrown his way, the opinions and betterment of customers doesn't concern him.Eureka Pharamaceuticals is a trusted brand, I gave my time to this company making it
an establishment people can believe in. From 300 thousand to 3 billion turnover a year, Eureka grew in leaps and bounds under my control.
The waiter timidly served the dinner and scurried away from us like we were monsters I don't blame him though the energy I was emitting made me nothing less of a monster.
The company I worked so hard for is in peril, my furious bloodshot eyes meet his eerily calm ones as I recalled the conversation I had with the tech guy." That bastard has been making sneaky moves under the name of your company, if we don't do something fast this might very well be the end of Eureka"
Lucas- the tech guy is someone I trust with all the confidential details of my company, he was there with me when I first started the company at the age of 19. It took us two years of pure hard work to create Eureka - an upright organisation that produces and sells medicines that does exactly what it claims with minimum side effects. So if he says it might be the end for us, I don't doubt him even for a second.
"It seems like we have a lot to talk about" my voice crisp with authority.
"Yes we do" he spoke with indifference blowing out a puff of smoke in the air, his left hand holding the cigar rested on the table a little away from the ash tray.
The nerve at the side of my head throbbed dangerously with anger.
"You did some suspicious dealings under the name of my company -"
His eyes meet mine free of all the arrogance and indifference it once held, he looked at me with terror
Pure Terror.
"-what I don't understand is what benefit would you get by tarnishing my company's name especially when you are one of the major shareholders?"
A malicious smile crept up his lips ,his face morphing into an unsightly view.
"You're a young boy far too young to know the animosity between The Whites and The Guimonds"
"Your uncle killed my sister-"He proceeded to tell me an exaggerated version of the story I've heard more than once from my uncle.
Eleanor White his sister and my uncle Arthur Guimond were childhood friends, they first met at elementary school and were inseparable ever since however eleanor believed they were in love.
My uncle did everything in his power to break that misconception of hers but he failed miserably every time, as his last resort he took a harsh approach to address the situation.
He cut off all his ties with her, he even went to New York to stay away from her. Everything seemed fine for a while, but the situation got out of hand when my uncle married his then girlfriend. My Aunt.
She approached both of them on numerous occasions with an ulterior motive, she tried to kill my aunt and even caused her to miscarry her first baby. And at last when none of her tricks worked she committed suicide.
It's an unfortunate event however my uncle is not the villain Hank is making him look like, even after all the things my uncle and aunt went through because of her they still weep at the memories of a lost friend.
