"What if we send a letter to Wizard Gem?" Jimmy asked, "Maybe she can help."

They were sitting on the bed, Scott with his legs crossed, and Jimmy laying down on his back with his hands tucked behind his head.

Scott nodded, "Do you think she could help me control it?" He held his hands up. A flurry of snowflakes formed above his outstretched fingers.

"Probably, she said she was going to research more, and I bet she'll have found something by now," Jimmy sat up and walked over to the desk. He picked up a pen and found a piece of paper. He cast a glance at Scott, who was trying to control the snowflakes dancing above his hand. Jimmy turned back to the table and wrote a quick note to the wizard, saying that her presence was requested in the Swamp Empire. Jimmy attached it to the leg of his messenger red-tailed hawk, let it hop onto his arm, opened the window, and watched it fly away.

Gem knew Prince Jimmy needed her the second she saw the hawk speeding towards her. She beginning to know this hawk well. It flew closer and landed on the railing of her balcony. She untied the letter from the hawk's leg, ripped open the envelope, and proceeded to read the note. Once she was finished, she set the letter on her bedside table. Then, the wizard tightened the straps on her amethyst elytra and shot into the sky. She found that the trip to the swamp seemed to grow shorter every time she came. She scanned the ground for signs of the empire and grimaced when she saw the Swamp Empire's dark cottages covered in snow. Jimmy met her outside of the house. She didn't see Scott, so Gem assumed that he was still inside. She landed gracefully on a mound of snow.

"Jimmy, what happened?" she asked breathlessly.
