Part 23-Surprise

I woke up next to him the next morning; his savory cologne, his smooth skin, his soft hair. My eyes fluttered open as I heard his raspy morning voice.

"Good morning my love."

"Good morning handsome." I said kissing him.

I looked outside of the window to see it was still dark, I looked at him confused but was only met with a smile.

"I wanna show you something."

"Ok."

He got out of bed and pulled on his boxers as I pulled on my bra and sweats. He walked down the stairs with my hand in his, as his smile brightened my mood. We got into the kitchen and Neymar made us breakfast burritos.

"That was really good, what did you want to show me though?"

"We have to get dressed, nothing fancy it's a surprise."

We went back upstairs and I put on a t-shirt and my hoodie as he put sweats and a hoodie.

"Ready?"

"I guess so."

We went down stairs and Neymar brought me out to his car.

"Ney where are we going?"

"It's a surpriseeee."

We got in and he began driving, soon we were out of the city and surrounded by hills and grass; the dark sky still overwhelming. It had been 15 minutes and I was still wondering where the hell he was bringing me.

"Are you gonna kill me and bury me out here?"

"Not yet." He said chuckling as I laughed with him.

He finally stopped the car at the top of a smaller canyon that was beautiful. The crisp air felt amazing blowing by and I was happy Neymar took me here.

"I knew I'd bring you here the day you came back to me." He said looking out on the canyon.

"You had it planned."

"This is the only thing I've ever had planned, where I'd take you, where I'd..."

"Where you'd?

"I can't reveal the plan."

"So you planned to take me to a dark, cold canyon?"

"No no, I planned to take you to see this." He stood next to me with his hand around my waist.

The sun slowly crept up from behind the rocks;  with beautiful shades of pink, red, orange, yellow, and purple showing. Warmth spread quickly over the hills, and our shadows cast.

"Do you like it?"

"It's beautiful, I love it." 

"I love you."

"I love you too Ney."

We kept staring out to the hills until the sun was up. It was about 7 and we decided to go home. We got back into the car and I curled up in the back seat, leaving him in the front.

"What are you doing back there?"

"Sleeping, you woke me up at 5am Ney, a girls gotta sleep."

"Sleep tight then."

"I will."

Ney pov

She's so pretty when she sleeps, so calm and tender. I wasn't lying to her when I said I had everything planned out. That year we spent apart left me alone with my thoughts and alot of alcohol so thinking about her was all I really did.

I thought about our kisses, our movie nights, our parties, and our future. All I cared about now was her, and I was glad to keep it that way.

We got back to the house and I couldn't bring myself to wake her up. I opened the back seat door and picked her up, bringing her into the house and laying her in our bed. I covered her with her favorite blanket and went down stairs.

I wanted to call Lio to tell him how I was doing, unlike Dani he cared AND understood how to deal with it. During that period he didn't try to haul me at a billion girls he just stuck by me.

N: Hey

L: Hey how have you been man?

N: Actually great, she came back to me.

L: REALLY! MAN I KNEW SHE WOULD.

L: That week said it all dude, promise.

N: Yeah, it feels like I'm in heaven rn.

N: She's sleeping in my bed.

L: Aw

L: I'm happy for you man, you guys are great together.

N: Thanks brother

L: Of course, bye jr

N: tchau
